It was a cool autumn morning. The forest was still shrouded in darkness. The lonely silence of the previous night reigned everywhere. A cold wind blew through the branches, dragging the already withered leaves with it. It looked like the happy dance of many small fish in the water and yet it seemed like the trees crying. With every leaf that went down a lot, it became clearer: something was wrong here. Usually the Lost Forests are evergreen. In my entire life I have never seen a dead leaf or a dead branch here. And now almost the entire ground was covered with them. Covered with a layer of grief and death. It was the pressure tree that watched over the forest and kept it alive with its creativity. He was able to influence all of the vegetation. All life here sprang from him. Every tree, every bush, every branch, every leaf. Not least we, the fairies. There could only be one reason for the trees to wither: Something had happened to the deco tree.As I still thought it to myself, I heard a voice. It sounded hollow and wooden, marked by pain, powerless and yet penetrating. It seemed to fill the whole forest. It was the pressure tree: "Navi ..... Navi ..... where are you? ..... You have to come to me. Hurry up.". The pressure tree has rarely spoken to us lately. He was lost in thought. He used to play fairies with us. Today he hardly said a word. What did he want so suddenly? And then from me too? I hurried to come to him. Again and again I met falling leaves from the trees. It was hardly possible to fly fast. During my flight I was wondering what to do with him all the time. There was nothing he couldn't ask of the other fairies. They might even have helped better than me. Completely lost in thought, I did not even notice how I was nearly struck by a falling chestnut.I just flew to the clearing of the pressure tree.
I almost passed the pressure boom. But his warm, soothing aura, which flowed through me at that moment, made me come to my senses again: "You called me?". I waited for him to answer, but it took a long time for him to do so. You could see that something was wrong with him. He looked like dried up. It was a cruel sight. A tree as tall as the tallest cedar and as wide as a cathedral. Hundreds of birds from all over the world always nested in its crown in spring. However, this year they stayed away. Just like many other animals. It has stood here since the beginning of time. In the 600,000 years everything had always been in order with him. What had happened that made such a powerful being only so weak. "I need to talk to you ..... It is important." He spoke very slowly. He had always had it that way, but this time it almost seemed as if he could barely speak. As if he didn't have the strength. "I'm ..... coming to an end ... you have to ... get him". He took a longer break. Since he didn’t continue, I asked him: “What do you mean: It’s coming to an end? And who should I get?”. I was excited. The thoughts that rushed through my head at that moment plagued me so much that I could hardly breathe. At last he seemed to go on talking. "I ..... have ..... no time ..... you have to ..... get him ..... the boy without a fairy.". Again he paused briefly, but then soon continued: "He lives ..... with the Kokiki children ..... You already know ..... who I mean ..... bring him to me ..... hurry up! ..... I don't have any more time. "Then the pressure tree fell silent again. "What do you mean? Why don't you have time? What's the matter with you?" I asked. But he didn't answer any more. I tried speaking to him a few more times, but he was silent. It just stood there, like an ordinary tree.
Reflecting on his words, I made my way to Kokiri village. What had happened to him? Why doesn't he tell us what's wrong with him. And now that too: A kokiri in the clearing of the pressure tree. When the leaves began to wither, he had forbidden the children to come here. And now he got another one. Of all people: the boy without a fairy. He wasn't exactly the most popular in the village. On the contrary. He was always teased by the boys. Every Kokiri child is given a fairy when they are born, who accompanies them every step of the way. For some reason, however, the pressure tree hadn't sent him a fairy at the time. Nobody knew why. He was always insulted or teased about it by the boys. And it was precisely this boy who was supposed to be the only one to come to the decubus tree. Strange. Could he have been ... wrong? No, this could not be. The pressure tree was not wrong. I've never seen any of his decisions go wrong. But then why this child? This question just didn't leave me alone.Suddenly it got cold around me. I felt the aura of the pressure tree disappear. I had left the clearing. Outside the clearing of the pressure tree, the pressure tree still had power over the common plants, but not over those that were not created by it. I had to be careful not to run into such plants. One variety was particularly dangerous: the Dekuranhas. Carnivorous plants that have been roaming the Lost Forests for some time. Their heads look like melon-sized plums that have been cut in half. They have long, flexible stems that allow them to move around quickly. Fortunately, these beasts are not very intelligent and therefore easy to trick. In addition, like all other plants, they were subject to autumn. They do not die, but their stems dry up. As a result, they can barely move. And in fact, I soon came across a few specimens. However, since they could hardly move, it was easy for me. I just flew around her in a wide arc. That way I was able to get to Kokiri village pretty quickly.
