1st chapter
Slowly but steadily, the play of shadows in front of his eyes became faster and the soft whisper of the wind became louder and brought a touch of danger with it. Every single muscle tightened in the young man's body, which lay protected by high walls of yellow sandstone in the shade of a tree in the middle of a small garden. The singing of the birds paused and the quiet babbling of the nearby brook was interrupted by loud voices, which slowly but steadily came closer and closer, here into the tranquility of nature.
The man carefully opened his eyes and it took a few seconds until he sat up completely and thus shook off the calm of a beautiful dream and faced the reality in which he was the son of a pharaoh and would soon rule over this realm himself. The wind picked up and a cold shiver ran down his spine as he turned around and the figure, almost unrecognizable, eyed him just like this."How long have you been there, Shadee? I hope not too long." Graceful, but still powerful, he got up, the wind playing with his deliberately protruding golden strands and making his red-black hair dance to its rhythm . The man, who was completely dressed in a wide white robe and also wore a wide white cloak over it, as well as an artfully braided white turban, began to smile and shook his head almost inexplicably.
"Time is relative for me, but you should know that, my young prince. Your father sent me, he would like to speak to you." The prince nodded and turned around and was about to go with his temple priest when he stopped again and back saw where he had just been lying a few minutes ago, indulging in his daydreams. This was by no means hidden from Shadee either, because he also stopped and his gaze was, as always, expressionless, as was his facial expression. The prince turned around and walked past Shadee, but not without apologizing, and trudged alone through the gloomy, cool corridors of the palace, in the direction of the throne room where his father was already waiting for him.
"There you are finally my son, isn't Shadee with you?" The latter turned around and only now noticed that his priest had not followed him. Obviously astonished and confused, he shook his head and walked slowly on until he stood in front of the throne and got on his knees in front of his father and the Pharaoh like a reverent servant and lowered his gaze to the floor. “You wanted to speak to me, my father?” The latter nodded and indicated to his son that he should get up. "Yes, that's why I had you called. It's about a desert tribe who are trying by all means to collect men against us. Perhaps you have already heard of it?"
The prince winced just thinking about what rumors he'd heard from this tribe, and if he was being honest he didn't want to know the truth."I have heard of the terrible events of the tribe. They murder and plunder villages while they burn it. Many innocent people have already died by their blades and the prisoners have never been seen again. Why do you want to know?" The Pharaoh clenched angrily his fists and his face twisted into a hateful grimace, tormented with anger, which even the young prince found uncanny.
"They murder and plunder only to show me, the pharaoh of the land, that I am nothing more than one who abandons his people! They only do this to undermine my power and whatever I do, it always ends in one Bloodbath! They mock me and show me off like a stupid boy! "Unconsciously, the prince had backed away a few steps in front of his father and was trembling all over, because it was just terrible, the rumors were the truth. And he felt the hatred rise in him and he felt the deadly hot anger in him, which made him almost insane and awakened indescribable powers in his deepest core.Still, he held back and when he continued his voice sounded calm and determined. "So this tribe has announced open war against you and thus against all of Egypt? But that is impossible, how can a tribe unite and perform such terrible deeds and is not adequately punished by the gods?" The Pharaoh gave a short laugh , and it sounded sad and defeated. "Why, who knows why. In any case, the gods will not help us, it seems much more like a test of them. But we will no longer stand idly by the cruel goings-on, because you will be with an army chosen by me ride against our enemies and bring back not only the victory but also the throne. "This just nodded silently, although in his innermost a loud voice cried out and resisted this decision and resisted. “Your son will obey you, my Pharaoh.” With these words the prince turned and walked out of the magnificent throne room towards the chamber, with occasional tears of despair and grief over the certainty of the imminent death of many brave men running down his cheeks .
