Lost?

Where are you? - or - Who are you?

Sakura and her team, in other words: Naruto Uzumaki and Sasuke Uchiha have been Chu-nins for three long years. This time they had the assignment to be the bodyguard of Mr. Tsukade and to protect him from any ninjas, criminals etc.
It was a level C assignment that shouldn't have been a problem, but they had their problems with it.

Yes, why did she have to get lost? The whole team had to fight Orochimaru completely unexpectedly. Orochimaru, who had been after Sasuke for a long time, now sought after Mr. Tsukdes' life.They all gave their best, the fight had been going on for a few hours. Everyone hadn't paid attention that Orochimaru was intending to separate them. Nevertheless, he got to his goal. Sasuke ordered Naruto and Sakura to bring Mr. Tsukade to safety while he was advancing against him.
Sakura was annoyed, why did she have to lose sight of Naruto. Because of that she had been looking for Naruto, but still got lost, until she no longer knew where to go.

Sakura sat down on a tree and thought a little hard.

Meanwhile, Naruto and Tsukade ran aimlessly through the forest to find a suitable place where they were safe. When Naruto discovered a small cave nearby, he headed straight for it.They entered the cave cautiously. The young Jo-nin first had to make sure that there was nobody in there who wanted Tsukade for life. When he was quite sure, he and Tsukade went in and rested.
Only now did Naruto realize that Sakura wasn't with them. Had He killed her? No, that can't be true.

The fight between Orochimaru and him was still raging, somehow the two were equally strong, but since Sasuke was a real Uchiha, he used his Sharingan eyes skillfully. He recognized every illusion that was led to him, so he could imitate every jutsu. The fight just didn't want to end. But Orochimaru also used his skills skillfully.

Sakura was still sitting under the tree where she had settled. She had dozed off a bit, but when she heard a cracking noise she was fully back. She looked around attentively, but nothing was to be seen. / Maybe it was just an animal./, she thought. But suddenly she heard it crack again. She was startled, a little afraid he was pulling a kunai out of a small side pocket that was tied to the leg to protect herself. / Please don't let it be Orochimaru! /, she thought fearfully.
She had had the feeling of being watched for her own minutes. The feeling was confirmed when it cracked again. Now she knew that she was not alone. Sauras threw her kunai that she had in her hand in the direction where she had heard it crack. She only hit the tree, but she was sure that someone was standing there.
That someone stepped forward immediately.
Sakura's expression had suddenly changed completely. There was fear on her face and in her eyes. The unknown man walked slowly towards her. She took a step back in fear. Sakura only managed to say one sentence, she was so afraid of him, whom she didn't know.
"Who am I?" He asks coolly.Sakura nods fearfully. "I'm Itachi:" he said.
Now she was even more afraid than he said that.
/ Itachi /, keep it in your head. / that's ... Sasuke's brother ... what is he doing here ...? #He sure wants to kill you if you don't quickly take your legs in your hands. #, her inner self screamed at her. / That doesn't do anything anyway, he's too fast / 'Well, you can't even try! # she said to her. Still in conflict with her inner self, she hadn't noticed Itachi approaching her.
But when she noticed, she wanted to take a step back to avoid it, only she had forgotten that she was standing at a tree and couldn't go any further back.
Itachi leaned slowly in front of him and whispered something in her ear. "Are you lost what?" He whispered. She nodded slightly. Itachi took that as a "yes".
Sakura was paralyzed with fear, she almost tried not to breathe. "Come with me, I'll show you the rough way out of the forest.", Itachi said a little louder.Sakura couldn't believe it, Itachi was nice, a little too nice for her taste. He was known as a murderer in their Konoha village. He'd killed his own family except for Sasuke, so why should he be nice to her. Slowly but still afraid she followed him, at least she tried not to let it show that she was afraid of him. Sakura tried to trust him a little too, maybe he really helped her to get out of the forest.
She still wasn't sure if she could really trust him.

Naruto and the one they had to protect were still waiting in the cave for Sasuke, who might already be dead. But his feeling told him something else. He was alive.

The fight between the two of them was no longer as strong as each of them was already at an end. Sasuke once again gathered all his courage and used his best attack he could: The fire hiding place. Orochimaru hadn't expected that.Itachi had really led me out of the forest, but I still worried that he was up to something.
/ Is he here to kill Sasuke? His own brother? / # Wouldn't be a miracle, he already killed his own whole clan, remember? # /No of course not! But what is he up to? /, Sakura was talking to her other selves.
Itachi had accompanied them to the entrance of the village, but he stopped exactly at the edge of the forest. Since he was considered a nuke-nin, he would be killed if he was found.
Sakura was still talking to the other self and hadn't noticed that she was addressing Itachi.
"You are there!" He said gently. (Which he is not anyway ^^)
Finally Sakura was mentally present again and answered quickly so as not to upset him.
"Thank you.", She thanked him and hid her fear. She walked slowly through Konoha's main gate.

In the forest it was almost dead quiet again, Orochimaru and Sasuke had fought until they fell, but there was still no winner.Sasuke tried to get up, breathing heavily, which he managed with difficulty. He just used too much chakra.
The Oto-nuke-nin was also lying on the floor, breathing heavily, he hadn't expected that he would offer him so much resistance.

Naruto and his protective Tsukade were sure that they should go to the village because they would come up with a new plan to defeat Oro (or Orochimaru).
The Chu-nin also hoped that he would meet Sakura there again, if she was still alive.
"I suggest we go to your village first. We can discuss everything there!" Suggested Tsukade immediately.
"I want to propose right now!Let's go! ", the blonde Nija commented.
Now the two went out of the safe cave to go to the village. On the way there they met their comrade Sasuke Uchiha, who was almost on the ground again. You couldn't call it going anymore. The little ninja approached his colleague and helped him to get to the village.
"Where did you leave Sakura?" He asked his friend worriedly.
"Sorry, we lost sight of her when we escaped!" Naruto apologized.
His eyes widened when the Uchiha offspring heard that they had lost them.

When they reached the village, Tsukade and the rest of the troop went with quick steps to the Has, where the Hokage lived. It was a short conversation in which they told him that Orochimaru was near this village and that Sasuke had had difficulty in stopping him from killing their protégé.
