Chapter 10: From Bad to Bad

Because Kai and I had some contact with each other, I was no longer as dreamy in class as at the beginning, which was ultimately reflected more than positively in my grades. On the occasion of the cherry blossom festival in spring, an excursion with the entire school was planned. It shouldn't be anything special just a 2-day trip to Kyoto, which was planned by the respective class level, of course with the support of the class teacher. I was really looking forward to it, because I was already imagining a good time with Kai, but what, or rather who, I hadn't counted on was Leiko. As soon as we got on the bus it was hanging on the quay like a burdock.I had often wondered how he could endure her, after all, he wasn't one of those who put up with everything. Ruri and I sat as far away from them as possible, but that didn't do much because Leiko's voice could be heard throughout the bus. I would have loved to go back to her and turn her collar on, that would have saved me and others more trouble. "Oh Kai, let me feed you just a little, after all, you shouldn't starve to death after all." I heard her moaning with Kai. Furious, I clenched both hands into fists and said quietly to myself: "Don't worry, he won't do that as long as you leave him alone." "Hey, calm down!", Ruri put her hand on my shoulder to help me calm down. "How should I calm down with the noise, it gets on my nerves!" "I can understand you, but she won't stop, on the contrary." I nodded in agreement, after all I knew what she meant by that. When we finally arrived at the hotel we were divided into our rooms, Leiko of course pulled off another spectacle in which she was upset that she was not allowed to share a room with her fiancé and that she would immediately complain to the school management about it when we returned . The girl didn't seem to know when to end. Fortunately for me and I suspect Kai too, she was unable to get her way this time because the teachers strictly opposed it.
In contrast to the strict domestic separation of boys and girls, attention was only paid to the distribution of rooms during our stay. We had half an hour to park our things and should then meet again at the hotel entrance. It didn't take Ruri and I long and we were on our way back straight away. I had just shot the door, Ruri snatched the key out of my hand again and said only briefly: "Forgot what!"She was gone inside again and I was waiting for her in the corridor. A moment later I understood why she had disappeared, because when I opened my eyes again after a short yawn, Kai suddenly stood in front of me. I almost started with fright to scream, which in itself wasn't my style. "Did you scare me! ", I glared at him amiable (oha, I'm just wondering how that works ... it doesn't matter). I saw that he wanted to say something, but he just kept looking at me." What is it? ", I asked now, slightly confused. He leaned over to me and whispered in my ear:" I missed you. " "I also you. ", I replied, embarrassed, since I hadn't expected it under any circumstances," But we shouldn't better leave it. So not that I ... um ... I mean when Leiko sees us, you will have problems with your grandfather (Kai told her everything in the mail). "" You will be right there, but I ... "" So, back!"Suddenly Ruri was standing in the door of the room again." We should go slowly to the meeting point, the others are sure to be waiting. ", she grabbed my wrist and pulled me behind her. The rest of the day Ruri tried to keep me away from Kai. That all struck me as a bit strange, since she was always the one who encouraged me to get closer to him.
When we went back to the hotel in the evening I asked her about it: "Ruri, can you tell me what the whole thing was about today?" "What?", She asked hypocritically. "You know exactly what I mean. You tried to keep me away from Kai all day today, do you think I don't notice?" She looked at me seriously, but didn't say a word. "Tell me why?" I wouldn't let up until she told me. She took a deep breath and looked at me depressed: "I saw her!" "Saw who?" "Can't you guess it? I saw Leiko and Kai. The evening before we left." "What do you think? ", I stopped, I wanted to know more about the matter, because I didn't understand what she was telling me." I saw ... like Leiko and Kai ... like the two of them ... oh man. The two just kissed, now you know! "I think my heart stopped for a moment as she finished the words.
"That can't be true," I stammered to myself. "I am sorry!" she put her hand comfortingly on my shoulder. I immediately slapped her hand away again: "I don't need your pity. Not from someone who is just like Leiko!", With these words I ran away. I didn't want to believe it. It couldn't be true, it could only be a lie! What was Ruri thinking of, was she on Leiko's side now? She was my best friend, how could she? Before I knew it I was back at the hotel, but I didn't go up to the room, but to the outside area, which was a small park. The sun was going down slowly, but that didn't stop me.I didn't want to think about Ruri's words any further and I'm sure I wouldn't have done it any longer if I hadn't turned the corner at that moment. My heart stopped again for a moment. There they stood Kai and Leiko. Kai was leaning against the next wall, Leiko had pressed against him. They kissed, they really kissed. Could it get any worse? Yes it could! Leiko broke away from Kai and his first look fell on me. "Idiot!" I called out to him and ran. Somehow this situation seemed familiar to me, but otherwise I didn't know what to do. At some point I stopped running, in the meantime it had even started to rain, and my eyes were blurry. I had no idea where I was, let alone where I could be. To be completely honest I didn't care either, the main thing was that I was gone, away from those who were just kidding and hurting me anyway. I would love to be home again, at home in Germany with my brother, with my real friends.Something like that would never have happened to me there. The strength in my legs decreased, I felt myself slump to the floor and leaned against the wall of the house on my left. For a while I continued to sit there and at some point, at some point everything went black again before my eyes.

So that's it again. I already have my eyes on what's going to happen next, so I'll do my best and keep writing quickly ...
