Hardly anyone who was in the immediate vicinity of the excavation site could not have overheard what was being called there.
"Gippel! Get Gippel! We found something!"
A few minutes later Gippel actually arrived.
"What am I supposed to do here?" He grumbled. "We didn't find anything here yesterday!"
"Yes, but look!"
The leader of the Al Bhed stepped closer to the hole in the ground. he looked down and gasped.
"What the hell..."
He stared at the golden, viscous mass in disbelief.
"We stopped digging! It was suddenly there!" Said the other Al Bhed named Kojin excitedly.
"What's that? Nobody has a clue ..." He didn't finish the sentence. Gippel casually slid down the slope without answering. Reluctantly, he crouched down and ran a finger through it. It felt like air.
He looked at it calmly. He had never seen anything like it before. Like liquid gold, but you couldn't feel it. At most a little cold.
"Well?" Someone called from above. "What is it?"
"I'm not sure," admitted Gippel.
"But I'll find out!"

So, I know, that was VERY short, admittedly, but it's just the prologue ^^
