Chapter 1: Thirst
I hated being in a school with well over 1000 people. You could hardly get through the corridors, it was so narrow when everyone was out. Especially today I had to get out of here quickly. After successfully knocking over a few students, I kept running until I finally ended up in the forest. I jumped up a tree and waited. I couldn't take it anymore.
Finally someone came over. That was really lucky that I had. I was on a very remote path.
With one jump I jumped down, luckily I'm not wearing a skirt! I thought while jumping. It didn't take long for my mouth to be on my victim's throat. But before I could bite, and it was usually quick, I was pushed away by my victim. I hit a tree and found that my victim was a boy. He had tousled light brown hair and a line of beard that made him look more adult than he probably was.
He came up to me with a damn angry look and clenched fists.
"Damn what are you thinking of !?" he yelled at me and started to choke me with one hand. Before I could add my mustard, he angrily added: "Wretched vampire!"
Because he was choking me, I could hardly speak but I managed to say a quiet "I can't help it either ...".
I shouldn't have said that. Because NOW he got really angry. I couldn't breathe so badly he was choking me. There was only one way to free myself: One step fully on the twelve. I took a step and hit his best piece with full force. I got that from a girls self-defense class I took in middle school.
He let go of me immediately and had to resist screaming first.
I immediately got up to run, but I hadn't regained my balance and swayed a bit. Before I could run any further, I felt a dull, painful feeling on the back of my head. My eyes went black and I fell over.
My eyes opened but what I saw in front of me wasn't the forest. I was in a room. The room wasn't particularly big and had a lot of posters pasted over it. Otherwise there was a chest of drawers and a cupboard in the room, nothing more. And I was lying in the bed that was also in the room and my ex-victim was sitting on a chair next to me. I didn't ask where I am. First I had to realize what had happened in the first place.
"Wake up again, vampire?" He stated disparagingly and turned to me.
"Tear. My name is Tear Covington." I let him know, annoyed. Vampire is such a bad word. My name sounded more melodic, I thought. Since I didn't intend to stay here any longer, I wanted to get up and run away, but he forcibly grabbed my arm.
"You don't seriously believe that I'm going to let a thirsty vampire run away!" He snapped at me.
Now I got angry. "Then let me bite you." I answered him with an ironic undertone. I didn't think he would really let that happen.
To my surprise, he pulled the collar of his shirt down and held his neck towards me. It wasn't meant seriously at all.
"Do it.", He replied to me.
"Yes how. First you choke me half-dead because I want to bite you and now you stretch your neck towards me. You are not making it easy for me, my friend!"
I really had the urge to bite, but I was a bit nervous that he would kill me if I was about to bite.
"What? I'm a werewolf. I can't turn into a vampire if you bite me.", He said and grinned at the same time.
What did I just hear?
"You can't mean that!" I stuttered at him, startled.
"Of course I mean that seriously! Why else do you think that I wouldn't run away like a normal person if a vampire wanted to bite me!"He was right about that. Anyway, I was amazed that he wasn't surprised to find out that vampires really exist.
Only now I had the urge to run away even more. But the urge to quench my thirst was stronger.
But okay. If he wants it that way. He couldn't have killed me anyway ... I think. And if it did, Tyoen, my brother, would have put one on the lid. In plain language, he would not have had any more then.
I leaned over to his neck, put a hand on his shoulder, and got ready to bite him. My lips touched his neck but I took it slowly. I still found it strange biting a werewolf. But I had to overcome myself.
"STOP!" He yelled.
Ha! He was afraid. It was good for him, not for me. Man, he made me damn nervous!
He grabbed my arm very roughly, dragged me to the door and just threw me out without saying anything. Literally. I sat speechless on the floor and looked puzzled at the door he slammed in front of me. And I could still hear him locking the door. Thank you too. Now I had to go home thirsty. I didn't feel like looking for someone else. Not today.
The next day at school was unbearable. People are particularly nasty in summer. They wear T-shirts where you can see the neck, the most delicious part of the body, open. An impudence.
During the break I could hardly listen to my friends. I've never been so thirsty. Now I also noticed that my girlfriends have damn tasty necks.
"Say Tear, do you know him? We have asked him a few times what he wants but he doesn't answer."
Katie's voice tore me out of my trance-like state. Judging by her look she had also noticed that I hadn't listened to them for a while.
I looked to the side to answer her question.
Oh no.There he stood next to me, grinning. My ex-victim from yesterday. How should I explain that?
I opened my mouth to give an impromptu answer, but after his very shocked look on his part, everything went too fast for me. I heard Katie giggle, Megan and Chloe whispering something.
What else should you have done when you see me being kissed by a boy from the blue. I couldn't believe it myself. It was quick. How he put his lips on mine ... NO! I couldn't find that nice. First he almost strangled me, then he threw me out and now he kissed me. Briefly he loosened his lips and whispered to me: "You can see your teeth."
But instead of stopping kissing me, he kept going. Halloho. I have to take a breath. Before he stopped kissing me, I was taking care of my teeth and now he stopped kissing me. First I gasped deeply.
Katie: "What ..."
Megan: "... was ..."
Chloe: "... that?"
I couldn't answer Fortunately, he noticed that and took it over for me with a grin.
"I see Tear hasn't told you yet. I'm Clyde and I've been dating Tear recently."
Oh no. Please do not. I couldn't believe he really said that. But I saw it positively. I now knew his name. Sarcasm ahoy.
All three giggled again one after the other and Megan said "Then we'll leave you alone with your boyfriend."
And so they left. That these snipes really believed that. But what was worse was that I was alone with my new boyfriend.
"I could be grateful to you, but no, I'm not." I snarled at him.
That grin. Why did he always have to grin like that. No. I just couldn't take it anymore. I had to look away.
"If you as a werewolf already know that there is a thirsty vampire at your school, you have to monitor him." He had to whisper that to me.The others in the corridor didn't necessarily have to know. Even if nobody would probably believe that.
"Is that why you are my friend now?"
"So I have a good reason to be with you all the time"
The gong rang. The break was over and I went back to my classroom without saying another word.
I only had to endure two more hours of math and then I was free. I couldn't be careful anyway. I just noticed that it was about trigonemetry.
Gong.
I think I was out first. I ran to the woods in the deep hope of not meeting Clyde. Unfortunately, my hope was dashed when I met him at the edge of the forest. I decided to ignore him and ran past him as fast as I could. As expected, he followed me. But I was faster.
I didn't run on the sidewalk. People might have found my speed unusual. I heard that he was running after me. Damn. He is slowly catching up with me. I tried to run faster but it couldn't be faster. Damn it! He jumped on top of me and we hit the floor. We slid about a meter along the ground.
Then something smelled that I didn't like. It smelled like blood. But it wasn't mine. He must have injured himself when we hit the floor. My vampire instinct came forward. I eyed him frantically to find the injured spot on him. Then I saw that his right hand was slurped open. I took his hand and drank the little blood that flowed from it. I did it without biting him. There wasn't much blood, but it was enough to regain my self-control. I got up quickly. I wanted to go away. I glanced at my new friend and paused on him. It amazed me that he didn't do anything. He just sat there and looked into nothing.
"What's going on?" I asked him. I felt sorry for him. But I needed the blood."What just happened is a shame for a werewolf."
That was clear to me, but he could have put himself in my position. But it would be inappropriate if I had said that now. I could understand how he must feel.
I sat down next to him. But mean as he is, he pushed me away with full force.
"Now you don't have to show pity here!" He yelled at me.
That went too far. You want to be nice and get pushed away and yelled at!
"You don't even know how it is for me! Would you prefer I hadn't drunk your blood now and gone berserk !?" Yes. Screaming has always been one of my strengths. But I exaggerated with the berserker. I wanted to make an impression.
When he got up I only noticed that he was very big. Especially from my current perspective. Me down, he up.
Oh oh. He grinned again. It was an evil grin. That couldn't mean anything good. He took a penknife out of his pocket and cut his arm. The blood flowed down and dripped onto the floor in front of me. This dog probably wanted to provoke me.
"Go. Get berserk. I want to see that. Finally show that you are a real vampire. You Lusche! Then I have a good reason to kill you!", He continued to provoke me.
My hands were already starting to shake. I was still thirsty. I could hardly suppress my vampire instinct. But if I couldn't make it, he would kill me. Under the circumstances, he didn't want to bite him.
He grabbed my
