"During the Second World War the Nazis murdered 6 million Jews all over Europe as well as 500,000 Sinti and Roma and around 250,000 physically or mentally handicapped people ..." a 50-year-old man read aloud to the class. But hardly anyone seemed to be listening to him.
"psssssst… ..hey Leena, what are Sinti? .... Leena? Hey Leeeeeennaaaaa !!!!" whispered a blond boy sitting next to her. But Leena didn't hear him. She stared out the window and watched the cherry blossoms fall from a tree.
She thought of the day two weeks ago when it had rained so badly and of Max.

"Miss Floyd, if you are bored, we can have a coffee party with the principal and talk about the weather and why you don't think it's necessary to listen to me!" The teacher grumbled at her.
She winced and looked at him in horror.
"So, don't look at me like that! It's going to the director's office now! And no arguing!" He roughly pulled her up by the arm and dragged her out of the classroom down the hall.
"Ouch. Mr. Osora let go of me !! You hurt me !!!!" she yelled at him and tried to escape his hard grip. "No! Don't argue with me! You think you can do anything just because you are from Europe. You are all criminals!" he called coldly.

"Ms. Misaki, did you hear that too? That sounded like ..." "Shit Leena !!!!" a boy talking to the teacher was interrupted by Ray, who immediately jumped up and ran into the hallway. Ms. Misaki followed Ray and when the two turned the corner they saw a man raise his hand to slap the girl.

"Now please be quiet!" with these words he raised his hand and struck out to strike. Leena screwed up her eyes. But suddenly his hand was stopped and a cold, aggressive, almost whispering voice rang out."If you touch my sister, I'll break your neck personally!"
Shocked, he let go of the girl, who then fell to the ground and opened her eyes and looked at her savior in disbelief.

Ray and Mrs. Misaki stopped. "Who is this?" the black-haired one asked his teacher. She thought for a moment and then specifically said "He is not a student from here. Maybe that's her big brother" // She has a brother? Why didn't she tell us? // thought the boy. Then he saw Leena fall to the ground and ran quickly to her, followed by the teacher.
"Miss Floyd, are you all right? What happened?" Ms. Misaki riddled her student with holes.

"Ray? Jason? ... Ms. Misaki?" Leena uttered absently. She had only just realized that her history teacher almost slapped her in the face. Completely shocked, she fell around Ray, who had crouched next to her. Slowly a tear ran down her face and she started to sob.
Ray tried to calm her down while Ms. Misaki turned to the teacher. "Have you gone crazy? Hitting a schoolgirl ... the headmaster will not like that at all. Be prepared for a suspension, Mr. Osora! I will personally take care of it!" She shouted.
"Thank you, young man," she said, turning to the rescuer.
"Would you please help me to escort Mr. Osora to the office?" she asked now and indicated to Ray that he should come with Leena. The older boy, who was obviously called Jason, did what she asked and then sat down with Ray in the hallway and waited for his sister.
In the office, Leena had to describe everything that had happened, then she could leave the room.

A group of boys and a brown haired girl walked down the aisle and stopped in front of Ray and another boy. "Where is she? How is she?" Hilary shouted frantically.
"Hey calm down! She is fine!" said Ray decisively.At that moment the door opened and Leena came out of the office.
"I'm so tired," she said softly. "Leena how are you?" wanted to know her friend. She had to tell everything all over again. Visibly annoyed and tired, she sat down next to her brother.

Meanwhile, Max looked at the strange boy next to Leena. //Who is he? She seems to like him a lot. What…. when the two are… a… couple !!!!!? // Max got sad and as if he was getting confirmation, Leena hugged the boy and said cheerfully "This is my lifesaver Jason."

Max's eyes widened, he suppressed the tears the pain was causing in his chest.
// Why? Why? // he thought. // Why him and not me? Why? // It was buzzing around in his head.
She looked at him. // He looks depressed. What's the matter with him? I've been seeing him for two weeks, should I have contacted him? // She walked up to him and was about to say something when Max screamed. "WHY ?????!" Then he ran away.

Completely shocked, Leena stood there and looked after him. "Now go after him!" Said Ray. And then she ran off. Down the hall to the stairs she jumped down, then through the door to the courtyard and out the main gate down the street. //Damn! Where is he? //
She stopped briefly and saw Max, who was walking across the street in front of her and not paying any attention to the car that was racing towards him at full speed. //Crap! Neeeeeiiiiiiinnnn !!!!! // she screamed inwardly and ran as fast as if an avalanche were after her.

Max saw a car racing towards him and then he felt a bump and the asphalt.

//Why? // were his only thoughts.
