have fun while reading!
Alissa was lying in Jack's guest room in his house, staring at the ceiling. She wasn't tired. And that would do her some good sleep right now. After all, she hadn't really slept the last few days. She had been excited to see her parents again and what it would be like in the past. And now she still had the problem of not being able to sleep. Almost everything was done. Would it only be tomorrow, or was it already morning?
Sighing, she held her wrist in front of her face to see the time on her watch. If she wasn't mistaken, it was eleven thirty by now. So not quite next morning.
So she would only go to this mission tomorrow, do what she had learned with the help of Thor and Teal`c and then back to the Stargate Center. There she would declare that she would have completed her mission. Saying goodbye to their parents, Daniel, Teal'c, and Hammond, then slipping back into their time. Actually not that difficult. And she knew the process. She'd also asked Teal'c, the one from the future, about the mission. So she knew what was going to happen. And at least she had decided to do that. Because actually it was intended that the Jaffa should go back to the past.
Alissa sighed slightly. If she thought about it like that now, she had to admit that at the time she was really just trying to get stubborn. She had also promised Bra'tac that she would learn from her talent for the language of the Goa'uld. And she hadn't done that yet. She had just been too busy talking to Jack.
Alissa wasn't the only one lying awake, though. Jack didn't fare much differently. However, his thoughts were more about who Alissa was now. After all, he hadn't really made up her mind so far. And why should he take her with him? Better to ask why did she come from the Stargate in the first place? Or ... maybe one should rephrase the question as well? Jack sighed slightly. He couldn't even think right anymore.
He sat up and shook his head slightly. Maybe a small midnight snack would make him sleepy, or at least give him other thoughts. But he had to admit one thing. From his previous observation of Alissa, he would say that she was okay after all. Even if he would like to know exactly where she came from and what she was hiding from him.
Quietly, almost silently, he went down the stairs and went into the kitchen. The two pizza boxes were still there. Had no desire to clear them away. There were 3 or 4 leftover pizza slices in the fridge. And one of them would land in his stomach right now, he was 100% sure of that.By now he had made himself comfortable at the kitchen table and one slice of pizza turned into two ... and then three. Just as he was about to take the last one, he heard footsteps in the house. A look at the clock told him that it was a quarter to 1. Actually, he should have been sleeping long ago. But because of the strange presence in his house, it wasn't exactly easy. But ... doesn't Alissa have to sleep long ago, Jack thought, and he switched off the light in the kitchen. The steps approached him and finally the light in the kitchen came on again.
“I thought you were going to sleep,” Jack said, not in the least bit surprised. Alissa, however, was surprised and winced slightly when he said that. "Oh." She just brought out and her gaze wandered to the plate on which the last slice of pizza was still waiting to be finally eaten.
“I couldn't sleep,” she mumbled and sat down at the table with me. "Mhm. There are two of us already." Jack replied and pushed the plate over to her. At first she looked at it suspiciously, but then she took the last piece of pizza and took a bite. "Excited?" Jack asked and Alissa looked at him questioningly. "Mhm?" She tilted her head slightly, chewed it up quickly and then swallowed it whole. "Why excited?" she asked now and bit into the piece again. "Apparently not your first mission." "Oh well. If you go through the whole thousands of times before, it's not that exciting anymore." She said absently and looked thoughtfully at her slice of pizza.
Maybe he would get a few answers after all. After all, Jack was pretty sure she'd said that rather inadvertently. "And ... what exactly did you go through on your mission?" he asked in a calm voice and looked at her waiting. "Mhm." She only answered and looked at him now. "You know. I can ..." "No information." Jack finished for her and rolled his eyes.
"Tell me. How did you get the pizza down? It's cold, wobbly and no longer tastes good." Alissa said now and looked at Jack questioningly. But he just shrugged his shoulders. "If it's the middle of the night and you can't sleep, it doesn't really bother you what you do or what you eat." He replied and Alissa nodded slightly. "Yes ... you are probably right ..." she said thoughtfully and put the last piece in her mouth.
