Chapter: Prologue - The Beginning

It was cold in the girls' dorm when I started writing a letter to my parents. Annoying giggles from the other girls finally made me leave. It couldn't be worse anywhere than with those damn gossips. Snowie stayed on my bed, should be fine with me. I didn't like it that much when she crept around my legs while I was trying to compose a proper letter. The words kept falling as soon as I touched the parchment with the tip of the pen. What was the matter with me today? My mind revolved around the previous day's event. I thought I saw a deer, a dog and something else together on the school grounds. It had been dark, but the full moon shone very brightly in the sky. That was also the reason why I was kept from my well-granted sleep. I put the letter and pen aside to relax for a moment. I leaned back in the chair and closed my eyes. My hair was braided in a braid and the end of it lay on my chest. There was little going on around me, but all of a sudden I felt a person's breath on the back of my neck. It gave me a shiver, whereupon I immediately jumped up and stumbled straight into Regulus' arms. "Aly, so scary today?" he grinned at me. I heard a harsh laugh from his throat and tried to free myself from his grip. Out of the corner of my eye I saw Lucius Malfoy, who must have been the one who had blown his breath against my neck. "Let go of me Regulus Arcturus Black" I pronounced his full name and realized that it made him suspicious. He let go of me and I was grinning now. "Too much your mother?" I asked quietly, whereupon Regulus laughed. "It's okay. But I didn't even know that you knew my full name," Regulus said and sat down on one of the armchairs. Lucius did the same and immediately began to talk about what they were going to do next against the plague of the Gryffindors. I sighed deeply, took my parchment, the inkwell and the quill and brought them into the room for the time being. When I came back down, the two were still sitting there, but I went through one of the many dungeon corridors. I felt uncomfortable, so I decided to get some fresh air. When I got outside I got very dizzy, so I leaned against one of the trees. "Is everything alright with you?" I heard a friendly voice say. I sagged so I couldn't even look at the young man who had spoken to me. I was black in front of my eyes and I felt that I was being picked up by someone. I gasped softly and tried to open my eyes. Then I heard a call. "What are you doing with Alyssa, you repulsive bastard?" someone yelled at my 'savior'. "She passed out, I'll just take her to the hospital room." said the boy who was carrying me now noticeably angry."Did you hit her with a shock spell?" now said another rather worried and seemed to be more of a friend than an enemy of the young man who was carrying me. "You don't really think so, Moony, do you?" asked my rescuer and now tried to pass the other. "Let me through now," he hissed, but then I opened my eyes. "Severus?" I whispered confused as I recognized him. I looked up and looked into the eyes of Regulus Black's dark haired older brother. He grinned broadly at me. "Now you can put it down again, paw" I heard James Potter say, who came out with Pettigrew. He lowered me gently so that my feet were back on solid ground. "Thank you," I said, smiling gently and at that moment forgot about the constant argument between Slytherin and Gryffindor. "Can you walk alone?" Sirius asked and I nodded gently. Snape looked at the boys with hatred and pulled me away from them by the arm. He seemed really angry, but I didn't really know why. Once inside, his grip on my wrist loosened. "Ouch, that hurt Severus," I whispered softly, looking at him in confusion. "Sorry, but those damn guys don't have the right to approach you," Snape growled now, which scared me a little. "Severus, he was just helping me. I was dizzy, then I went black ..." I started, but Snape cut me off. "Doesn't matter, that traitor touched you," Severus hissed at me. "Hold on, Severus," I heard someone say now. Regulus must have heard Snape and now interfered. "Has Alyssa harmed you? If not, leave her alone you fool," said the Black Scion in a bored tone, pushing Severus out of the way. This step now quickly back into the dungeon corridors. "Thank you," I smiled gratefully. "No problem." he said to me and walked beside me.
