Chapter 2 (Kellina's new parents)

The sun had almost risen over the horizon of this strange new world, about which Tanara knew nothing at all.A new day had dawned. For the time being, she and Princess Kellina were guests in the house of this older woman, who a few hours ago she didn't even know who she was. Melosa, that was her name, had talked to her for a long time before she revealed who she really was. That had been a big surprise for Tanara, especially that Melosa as well as the princess and she herself came from Shandalar.

Melosa was just 1.55-1.60 m tall and was already very old, much older than she looked. But you could estimate her appearance to be between 40-45. She had long dark brown hair that she wore pinned up. She was wrapped in a dark blue dress that went to the floor.

Melosa told her that she came to earth about 100 years ago and has been waiting for the princess to arrive since then.

The sun came all the way over the horizon and Tanara went back to the house.
<br />
Her hostess's house was not exactly big and everything was furnished very modestly, but Tanara was grateful not to have to camp out with the princess.

Once inside, she saw Melosa holding Kellina in her arms and giving her the bottle. It didn't really suit her that she did that. The princess had been entrusted to her.
<br />
Tanara sat down at the table and watched her.
<br />
"It is essential that the princess grows up among normal people," said Melosa. and continued: "It is better for her development. Here on this island in seclusion she cannot stay, even if a few people live on the other side of this island". Tanara said nothing, but she silently agreed.

"But how is that supposed to be done?" she asked.
<br />
"We will try to find suitable foster parents for the princess," added Melosa.<br />
"Foster parents????" asked Tanara, amazed. "I have been prepared by the priesthood since I was a young girl to be there for the princess, not to leave her side until she reached the necessary age to return to Shandalar." She said that, almost in tears.

"We'll find a way that you can stay close to her," Tanara reassured her.
<br />
Tanara, the young priestess from the Order of Light, who was now 28 years old. She had longer black hair, was slim in stature and was 1.70 m tall.

It was her job to initiate the princess in the arts of white magic.

She has been prepared for this day for most of her entire life. She still remembers it very clearly. She was 6 years old when a priest of the Order of Light came to their home and told her parents that he wanted to train Tanara to be a priestess.A priestess who one day, as he said, would achieve great things. Your parents agreed and placed you in the care of this priest, from whom she learned a great deal about the arts of white magic over the years.

Melosa pressed a card into her hand. Tanara unfolded this and now had a view of the land area distribution of this world. She saw a large continent, four large cities that appeared to be capitals, many smaller cities, also mountains, deserts, lakes, seas and islands were clearly visible on it.

"I'll get you new clothes first. You can't go out with people in these. You would only draw attention to yourself and tomorrow we will travel to the central capital and start our search." she added.<br />
Tanara was still dressed in her priestly robe.

Central capital ...? Tanara looked for this city on the map and finally found it.
<br />
This was surrounded by mountains, mountains that were high in the north of the continent.

"And there we want to find a new home for the princess ???" she asked Melosa.
<br />
"Yes," she said, "there are many wealthy people living in the central capital, and I would like the princess to be housed with a wealthy family."
<br />
"She shouldn't miss anything," she said and looked at little Kellina, who was still carrying her in her arms and smiled.

Her gaze slowly returned to the map and asked: "Where exactly are we here?"

Melosa showed her a small island almost on the lower right edge of the map.

"This island is called Papaya Island by its inhabitants."<br />
With that, Tanara`s curiosity was satisfied for the moment and put the card back together.

"Are you capable of mind reading?" asked Melosa
<br />
"Yes, I am," said Tanara.
<br />
"Then you should rest today, because tomorrow will be exhausting for both of us."
<br />
What does she mean by that? Tanara didn't understand, but did as she was told.

Very early in the morning of the following day, the sun had not yet risen, Melosa and Tanara, the Kellina with them, set off for the mainland in a glider.

Yes, she noticed herself that she still had a lot to learn about this new world. The flight over to the mainland to one of the smaller towns took some time. Once there, they took a plane for their onward journey, which they flew to the central capital.<br />

After 2 hours of flight time they had finally arrived in the central capital and Tanara couldn't stop being amazed.
<br />
So many people who live here and what a mess there was. Vehicles everywhere, clogging the streets. She heard the people who were sitting in the vehicles scolding and cursing because they could not go on.

Melosa, who noticed Tanara's astonished expression on her face, said to her: "It is lunchtime and therefore there is a lot of traffic here. Everyone is stressed."

This only brought out an astonished "AHA" and asked: "This is where the princess should grow up ???" Here in this mess? "

"Not necessarily," said Melosa and took Tanara by the arm and led her on.

Still the same hustle and bustle and the stress that the people of this world do to themselves <<, thought Melosa and continued her way through the city center together with Tanara and little Kellina, who did not notice any of this because she was slumbering deeply.<br />
Meanwhile, little Kellina woke up and started crying because she was hungry.

In a small city park nearby, Melosa and Tanara first sat down at a large fountain and Tanara gave her bottle to Kellina, who immediately began to drink eagerly. ^ - ^

>> So small and already so hungry << Tanara and had to smile. While Kellina was busy drinking, Tanara examined the large fountain. In the middle was a statue of an almost naked woman. But she also immediately recognized two smaller figures that could be seen to the left and right of this one.

They were two little angels. "There are angels here too?" She asked.
<br />
"In the faith of these people, yes, but not like in Shandalar."
<br />
"This is a strange world," admitted Tanara.

Melosa nodded "Yes, it is." Tanara was lost in thought for a moment. >> Hard to believe that King Roland came from here. <<

In the meantime, Kellina had finished her bottle and fell asleep again immediately.<br />
Tanara also quickly changed her diaper. She and Melosa then immediately began their search for a suitable home for the princess.

Time passed, it was now late afternoon and her search has so far been unsuccessful. You have now had so many people whose memories explored .......! They had researched your character, your situation in life and so on, but Melosa was not satisfied with the results so far.

They had now combed the whole city and were now in a very large park area a little outside of the city and rested there for the first time on a large area of ​​lawn.

The park was almost empty of people.

Tanara sank to the floor, she almost didn't think she could feel her feet anymore .......!

She carefully put the princess next to her and then let herself fall into the grass. She looked into the light blue sky.

"A crazy world, but still without hard wars, like in Shandalar," she said.<br />
"Yes ... still," muttered Melosa.

Tanara looked at her. “What do you mean?” But Melosa did not answer her, because her eyes were on a couple, a couple who were sitting on a large blanket about 10-12 meters away from them.
