Part 5
<br />
<br />
Bulma rolled over in her bed and tried to ignore the fact that someone was pounding on the door of the room without regard to her nerves.
<br />
"Go away!" She mumbled sleepily. "It's still too early!"
<br />
<br />
"Do you want me to cut your door into kindling?", Vegeta's voice sounded muffled from outside.
<br />
"Doesn't work, it's made of plastic", Bulma yawned and pulled the pillow over her head. "Come again tomorrow."
<br />
"It's already tomorrow," Vegeta persisted. "I've fulfilled my part of the promise, now it's your turn. Finally get the spaceship out!"
<br />
<br />
Bulma pulled the blanket over her too, hoping that he would give up on his own and let her go back to sleep. But far from it.
<br />
There was a bang and the door jumped off its hinges and fell into the room.
<br />
Bulma jumped up in astonishment and was suddenly wide awake."What are you thinking of, you idiot!"
<br />
Vegeta marched into the room, arms crossed in the usual way, and wanted to loudly demand the spaceship from her again. But at the sight of Bulma, his mouth suddenly went completely dry. Since it had become very late last night, Bulma had only had a quick shower and put on a negligee before she crawled into the springs. The silky, white, wafer-thin almost nothing was held by two thin straps, the right one with the annoying tendency to slide down. Bulma, much too upset about Vegeta's rude wake-up call and the broken door, climbed out of bed, grabbed the pillow and stomped over to Vegeta to knock the piece around his ears. Only when she stood in front of him did she notice the predatory gleam in his eyes and suddenly Bulma became aware of her wardrobe (better said, the lack of it). With a jerk she held the pillow in front of her like a protective shield. A draft of air came in through the open door and played with the short hem.Vegeta swallowed and, as if in a trance, reached out his hand to touch the white silk. Smooth, but not as soft as the skin that was hidden beneath it. When his hand slid up and came to rest on her bare upper arm, neither of them dared to take a breath.
<br />
<br />
Bulma's still a little drowsy eyes widened and she was sure that Vegeta could hear her heart pounding. What was he up to?
<br />
Vegeta didn't know himself, she just felt damn good, warm and silky and the way she reacted to his touch also made his pulse beat faster. How they had sparkled, her eyes ... yesterday, when she had told the green-haired her opinion, her words about his pride and his strength came back to his mind ... he should somehow show his appreciation for it ... not for it for defending him (needlessly), but maybe for the fact that she finally knew how to appreciate his qualities, no matter how much she scolded about it ... His other hand found her left shoulder and pulled her towards him, now was the only time but the pillow between them ...<br />
Bulma couldn't tear her gaze away from his face. He'd never held her and kissed her ... was that what she wanted? ... finally a real kiss, no game, no punishment, just because it was right? Her mind spun in a circle, faster and faster, until she felt as dizzy from it as from his proximity.
<br />
<br />
He would make it short, for sure. Just a short kiss, a little softer than the one in the hallway, after all he didn't want to punish her, but thank her ... somehow ... maybe ...
<br />
She would just let it happen, just this once ... just out of curiosity ... for a breath ... maybe two ...
<br />
<br />
Vegeta had almost no experience with it and Bulma only that with Yamcha. Neither of them were prepared for the overwhelming feeling of closeness, for the crackling sound that erupted like lightning as his lips touch hers. Carefully. Groping.Take a breath.
<br />
She responded by dropping the pillow and wrapping her arms around his shoulders.
<br />
Warm. Wrapped. Protected. Safe. The kiss got more intense, hungrier. Take a breath.
<br />
Then Frau Briefs dropped a cup in the kitchen. Her exclamation, as well as the clang, destroyed the magic of the moment. Bulma and Vegeta started apart. Both breathless, both red in the face and shocked by their own boldness, they stared past each other.
<br />
For two or three breaths nobody dared to say something first, for fear of revealing how close the kiss had got to him. Vegeta was the first to find his voice. "Hopefully now you're awake enough to give me the capsule with the spaceship, aren't you?
<br />
<br />
Pluff! He had the pillow on his face. "First you will fix my door, you bastard!" Bulma was split in two. On the one hand, she was glad that he pretended nothing had happened (.. a kiss was just a kiss and not a token of love or anything big ...), on the other hand, she wished that he would at least show a little emotion, not just Hormones but also heart.But what was to be expected from someone who had turned into a giant gorilla in the moonlight?
<br />
<br />
A reach in the closet and Bulma pulled out a dressing gown, in which she wrapped herself demonstratively and turned her back to Vegeta.
<br />
Vegeta, for his part, wondered if all Earthling women could just turn their emotions on and off at their convenience. First she melted away in his arms and then she treated him like an annoying plague and gave him the cold shoulder. Well, he would definitely not show how much her closeness, her kisses, her scent warmed him inside and aroused feelings in him that he would rather not name ... it was bad enough that he felt like a helpless Earthling appeared when he held her in his arms.
<br />
<br />
So he grabbed the door and tried to press it back into the door frame, which didn't quite work and as soon as he used a little more force, the plastic in the middle burst.<br />
"Very well". Bulma tapped the floor with the tip of her foot and shook her head. "You can break it well, but when it comes to repairs ..."
<br />
"That's a specialty, isn't it?" replied Vegeta snuggly. "I just want the spaceship, then you can take care of your door."
<br />
<br />
"How generous of your Highness," sneered Bulma. But when there was no other way, she gave in and fished a capsule out of her underwear drawer. “Here it is!” She tossed the capsule at Vegeta's feet. "You will still be able to bend over, won't you?"
<br />
Without a reply, Vegeta picked up the capsule and marched out of the room. The fragments of the door crumbled into even smaller pieces under his feet.
<br />
<br />
"What happened here?" Asked Ms. Briefs in amazement and stuck her head in the door frame. "I just wanted to wake you up and ask if you would like breakfast."
<br />
"Vegeta behaved like a prehistoric creature again," Bulma snorted.<br />
"Oh." Ms. Briefs took note of the statement with the calm that is typical for her. "Do you want breakfast now or should I clear everything up?"
<br />
"I'll be right there. If you still have some blueberry pie ... I need something now that I can mash up with a fork ..."
<br />
<br />
"No problem!" Smiling, Mrs. Briefs went back into the kitchen.
<br />

<br />
In the meantime Vegeta had taken the spaceship out of the capsule in the garden.
<br />
"Do you want to train in there again?", Prof. Briefs asked behind him and adjusted his glasses.
<br />
"Yes, is there a problem with that?"
<br />
"I would have to readjust the gravitational converter first," explained Bulma's father. "You want the performance to be right, don't you?"
<br />
Of course Vegeta wanted that. So he let the professor go first. When he stepped out of the spaceship after a few minutes, Vegeta asked him how it was with the space suitability and the speed.<br />
<br />
"Do you want to go somewhere?" Replied Prof. Briefs with a counter question.
<br />
"I don't know exactly yet," Vegeta replied. "Somehow I can't really let off steam here."
<br />
"Believe me, Vegeta, we would also prefer you to hold me back a bit.", Prof. Briefs said dryly. "As for the space suitability ... hmm you messed it up pretty badly on your last excursion. I patched the roughest and Bulma could fly through the blizzard, but it would need a general overhaul before you go on a longer excursion into space with it . "
<br />
<br />
"How long would it take, roughly?"
<br />
"About five days if I do it really thoroughly."
<br />
"Bulma says she needs about 14 days for the suit ... then I would have a week to train in the ship before it is overhauled ... that will have to be enough ..." Vegeta mused in a low voice. "All right, then I'll leave the ship to you for a major overhaul in seven days."<br />
"It should be fine with me, there is a little variety after the aura generator", Bulma's father nodded. "You're going to need more, though. Fuel, oxygen, supplies and, most importantly, a new stereo system."
<br />
"So I can do without that," grinned Vegeta. "I'll take care of the rest too."
<br />
With a cursory nod to Prof. Briefs, Vegeta stepped onto the ship, closed the hatch and started up the gravity converter. For starters, 30G to warm up ...

<br />
In the meantime Bulma had showered, dressed and poked at her blueberry cake with a disgruntled face. Her first anger at Vegeta, as it had often before, quickly evaporated, but ... it was entirely his fault that she always had to go through this rollercoaster of emotions. It had never been that bad with Yamcha. Not even at the beginning. That could of course be because they had both admitted their affection at the beginning of their relationship and thus had been a couple.But what were she and Vegeta? Hardly a couple. No matter how attractive he could be, how irresistible when he showed himself from the softer side ... "No, Bulma, you mustn't
