It was getting dark when Maya made her way home. Slowly she trotted down the street, her thoughts still on the events of the day. She had acted like a complete beginner while exercising, because not one exercise had been flawless. Ms. Hayashi hadn't uttered a word about it, but Maya noticed her mundane mistakes and she knew that she still had to work hard on herself. That was why she had stayed in the gym for so long, but made no significant progress. If it went on like this, she could tick off the championships.
<br />
And then there was the Chiaki thing. Then she didn't know what to do with him. He had completely surprised her with his stupid question. "What a weirdo," thought the girl, "he should just leave me alone."So she cursed even more in her mind and didn't even notice that she had walked in the direction of Shiba City Park. So she was all the more astonished when she stood in front of the entrance. The park was known to be the meeting place for young lovers. The lawn, where the children's playground with the two swings and the slide was, was bordered by a gravel path. The path in turn meandered through tall trees with old-fashioned lanterns at regular intervals, which only sparsely illuminated the area.
<br />
"Well, what the heck," thought Maya, "I have to take this route for better or for worse." She gripped her school bag more tightly and then walked purposefully along the left gravel path. That was the shortest way home, which was exactly on the other side of the park. The girl felt a little queasy when the small stones crunched under her shoes with every step. Suddenly her blood froze in her veins because she heard a loud, high-pitched scream.Confused, Maya looked around in all directions and then she saw the one who had screamed. A young woman was lying on the ground between the trees, which were not so close together. She fought desperately against the attacker, who sat with spread legs on her body and held the woman's two arms with one hand. Maya quickly hid behind a tree and watched the scene. The attacker looked very unusual: he was very slim, had green hair and pointed ears. The girl rubbed her eyes, there couldn't be such a thing! She was considering how she could help the woman when suddenly a bright light surrounded the two figures lying on the ground. Maya looked at what was happening with a mixture of fascination and fear. The light condensed and became smaller in the process. The woman had become very calm and seemed to be passed out. Now it had formed a radiant sphere that was getting brighter and brighter. Then it disappeared as suddenly as it appeared, leaving a faintly glowing pearl.It was about four centimeters in diameter and shimmered in every color of the rainbow. The attacker stretched out his right arm and the pearl floated on the open palm. After he closed his hand, he got up and Maya realized that this person was not a man but a woman. Ne-ine, because it was her, was proud to be successful with her assignment so quickly. As a precaution, she put the pearl in her belt pouch, she couldn't afford to make a mistake.
<br />
Fearfully, Maya took a step back, ignoring where she was stepping. She winced when she stepped on a thin branch, which cracked apart. Ne-ine jerked her head in that direction and behind a tree she recognized a young girl. "I don't need any witnesses," with which she walked over to the place. Maya backed away in panic, suddenly tripping and landing on her back. The girl straightened up quickly and now, sitting, watched as Ne-ine came closer and closer."No, leave me alone," Maya whispered. Her heart was pounding very strongly and then she screamed loudly: "Get out of here!" Suddenly Ne-ine was thrown several meters through the air as if grabbed by an invisible hand. When she came to a stop again, she stood up with a shake of the head: "You will pay for that, little one!" Now she concentrated and teleported back to her hiding place.

The evening sun bathed the room in a reddish light. Keiichi Kudo was sitting at the coffee table, holding a photo of Yashiro in his hand. He missed her very much and thought about how much Maya looked like her mother. From the time his wife left the family, Keiichi took great care that nothing in the house had been changed. Maya's mother had chosen the facility herself.
<br />
"Our daughter is already 15 years old," he said in his mind, "do you think I can finally tell her the truth?" He ran a hand through his black hair.“I think she'll understand.” Resolutely, he got up and went to the small chest of drawers that was directly under the window. He opened the drawer and took out a dark blue velvet jar. The man carefully stroked the soft surface and then opened the lid. Inside was a gold chain with a gold pendant. It was shaped like a key and had strange characters engraved on its surface. Yashiro had worn this necklace when they first met. Keiichi's thoughts wandered into the past, to the day that would change his whole life.
<br />
<br />
Keiichi had just turned 25 and successfully completed his medical degree. For three weeks now he has been working in the Shinzoo private clinic as a doctor in an internship, which meant the completion of his training. His boss was Professor Takamura, an excellent surgeon.
<br />
The young man hurriedly looked at his watch: "Oh no, why did I have to oversleep today?"He quickened his pace and walked down the main street of the Shimbashi district. It was just ten to eight and there had been a hustle and bustle here in the business district since dawn. Now his way led him through a deserted side street. The noises were hollow House walls thrown back. After a few minutes, Keiichi turned into the feeder road to the hospital. The Shinzoo Clinic was just outside the city center. The building had been rebuilt six years ago and was painted all white. The clinic was one of the most prestigious in all of Japan, here Only specialists and other top staff were employed. The facility was the most modern on the market, so the treatment was also very expensive. From the clinic's own park, which had been laid out for the relaxation of the patients, one had a wonderful view of the Tokyo Tower, the symbol of the city. The tower was vaguely similar to the Eifeltu rm in Paris.It was just built a little narrower and painted in red and white. However, the tower looked most beautiful at night, because it was illuminated by countless lamps and was even more impressive.
<br />
Keiichi kept walking and was almost at the ambulance driveway when he suddenly saw a young woman lying on the side of the road. She was around 16 or 17 years old and wore very unusual clothes. Immediately he stopped, leaned down and examined her briefly. Outwardly, she didn't appear to have any injuries, but she had passed out. After finding this out, he carefully picked her up and carried her to the ambulance. The young woman was given a room on the floor where Keiichi also worked. She suffered from amnesia and therefore couldn't even remember her name.
<br />
When Keiichi was allowed to visit her for the first time the next day, he noticed how beautiful she was: she had long, blonde hair that came down to her hips in soft waves and bright blue eyes, as blue as a cloudless sky.The young woman smiled kindly at her visit: “You helped me. Thank you for it!” The young man shyly fetched a chair and sat down next to the bed: “You don't need to thank me.” Then smiled to each other, because they had the vague feeling that they were meant for each other.
<br />
Of course, it did not stop with this one visit, because from now on Keiichi visited the young woman, whom he had named Yashiro, every day. Slowly the two discovered tender feelings for each other and after their discharge from the hospital, the two married. Less than a year later, their daughter Maya was born and happiness seemed to be perfect, although Yashiro still had not found her memory again.
<br />
<br />
Keiichi's thoughts returned to the present. He took a deep breath and then checked his watch. It was getting pretty late and he was slowly starting to worry about his daughter.Then he heard the front door being opened and then closed again shortly afterwards. “Maya, will you come into the living room, please?” He immediately got an answer: “Yes, I'll be right there!” Slowly the girl came into the room and looked at her father invitingly. "Please sit down, I have something important to tell you," with these words he pointed to the sofa, which was right across from him. After Maya had sat down, Keiichi began to say: "My darling, you will soon be going to high school and I think you are finally old enough to learn the truth." His voice faltered and the girl saw him big eyes expectantly. He seemed to be looking for the right words, because it took a while before he continued: "It's about your mother. I don't know how best to say it. She is not dead, but has left us." Maya's thoughts swirled confused: 'Mom is still alive. I have a mom. 'She felt her tears come: "Why did you always tell me that she died?"The accusation was clearly audible in her voice. Keiichi swallowed a few times and then found his voice again: I didn't know if you would understand. Mama didn't just leave us like that. She had to do an important job and she promised me , then to come back immediately. "Now he held the jewelry box out to his daughter and continued with his story:" I should give this to you when you are old enough. She also said that if you would wear the necklace, you could understand why she had to go. "Maya wiped the tears from her face with the back of her hand, then opened the lid of the can and took out the gold chain. She held the filigree treasure in her hands with admiration. With trembling
