eyes and dark marks appeared on his face and body that made him look even more dangerous and wild.
"Very good!" Grinned the demon ruler. "Your blood cannot be denied. So far you have only taken what you thought useful, the power."
"So what?", Yusuke burst out harshly. "I don't need anything else from your damned genetic makeup!"
“You can't just take without paying the price, son!” Raishin licked his lips. "My strength, which you have received through genes, also brings my hunger. The hunger for human flesh."
"Nonsense!"Yusuke clenched his fists." I'm never hungry for people. I love hamburgers and Keiko's dad's food! "
“And you think it will stay that way?” Raishin tipped his head back and laughed. "Look at yourself, there is nothing human about you anymore. You can choose. Either you remain a person, too weak to protect those who mean something to you, or you use your full potential and then you become greed in you feel awakening ... "He snapped his fingers. To the side behind him the fog parted and a young girl in a school uniform appeared. Her eyes were glassy and her movements uncertain, as if she were in a trance.
"Keiko!", Yusuke choked out and took an angry step towards his ancestor. "What did you do to her?"
"Nothing at all yet," said Raishin and stepped behind the girl. His hands grabbed her shoulders and she stopped. His fingers lifted her shoulder-length brown hair and brushed the gentle line of her neck."Doesn't it look good enough to eat?"
"You ...!" Yusuke came over and hit the grinning face of his ancestor. He just laughed and pushed the girl into Yusuke's arms. The boy caught her and hugged her while the demon loosely folded his arms a few paces away. "You want to devour her skin and hair, don't you? So bite instead of chastising yourself as I've done for centuries. Or do you want to end up as miserably as I do?" The powerful demon suddenly turned into an emaciated wreck in whose eyes a consuming hunger wandered. With a sigh, he collapsed on his knees, fatally weakened.
Yusuke jumped over to him, pulling Keiko with him. But then Raishin already crumbled to dust. Tears ran down Yusuke's cheeks. The dust swirled around him and settled on his skin and hair, which promptly turned the color of dry straw.
"What ..?!", Yusuke managed just before his eyes completely lost all humanity. His teeth grew long and pointed, and his nails grew into claws. Keiko sighed softly and Yusuke's gaze slid to her neck while he licked his lips.
“Yusuke, don't do it!” Kurama wanted to grab him by the shoulders, but immediately such a dark aura flared up around him that Kurama shrank from it.
"Idiot!" muttered Hiei, drawing his sword. He left it open whether he meant Kurama or Yusuke.
His face was contorted with tension and the third eye on his forehead opened. At that moment an ice-cold gust of wind swept through the tunnel and a dark shadow seemed to hover over everything.
"That makes no sense, Hiei," mumbled Kurama, who despite the coolness of sweat stood in thick drops on his forehead. "He doesn't feel it!"
In fact, Yusuke seemed unimpressed by the threatening atmosphere in the tunnel. He had clenched his teeth tightly and his claws brushed longingly over Keiko's soft, round arms. There was a consuming greed in this movement, which had nothing to do with Yusuke's love for the girl. This was older, more cruel, and his grin spoke of a madness that sprang from centuries of agony.
"What should we do?" Hiei growled, forcing himself to close his third eye. The cold faded and Piccolo and Vegeta also stopped chattering their teeth. "The most I can do is cut off his head ..."
"No stupid jokes," said Piccolo and slowly walked towards Yusuke. He saw that there was still some humanity in the demonic creature. This part was reluctant to give way to the ancient soul that had taken possession of it. But it seemed that the human part was losing control of the body more and more. The head bent in small jerks ever lower and lower towards Keiko's neck.
"What are you going to do?" Kurama asked eagerly.
Piccolo looked at Vegeta and he understood."Make sure you aren't too slow," the Saiyan growled.
The Namek nodded curtly. A shudder went through Yusuke's body, as if shaking off something annoying. He threw his head back and let out a low scream. With the corners of his mouth drawn back, he bared his teeth like a wolf.
Piccolo yelled. He and Vegeta threw themselves at Yusuke at the same time. Piccolo snatched Keiko from his grip and threw her into Vegeta's arms while he rammed his forearm between Yusuke's jaw at the same time. He couldn't stop and bit down with all his might. The purple blood streamed from the wound and Piccolo narrowed his eyes to ignore the pain when he jerked his arm loose again and a piece of meat caught in Yusuke's clutches. He spat out the green stuff in disgust and broke his knees with a gasp, his hands trembling against his neck, as if the taste of Piccolo had burned his throat.
"I don't taste that bad either!", he said, slightly pricked. Looked at the gray layer on Yusuke's skin and looked questioningly at Kurama. Kurama nodded slightly, fished a seed out of his hair and threw it on the ground in front of Yusuke
A little encouragement from Kurama and a thick, fleshy tendril wound its way towards Yusuke. Within a few moments, the tendril wrapped itself around his body and formed numerous pear-shaped protrusions the size of watermelons. "Now, Hiei!" The fox spirit called to the fire demon. Hiei was not asked for long, his sword whizzed through the air that Vegeta's eyes could barely follow him and slit open the almost thirty large fruits within a single breath. From these, a light, green liquid poured over Yusuke. The shower jerked him out of his daze and he writhed like a wild animal in the clutches of the vine. But the more of the white dust was washed off him, the calmer he became. The demonic glow faded from his eyes and what remained was the desperate look of a boy who loathed himself. At the same moment Keiko's image disappeared from Vegeta's arms, which the latter acknowledged with a relieved sigh.
"Obviously there is more to you than it looked", Piccolo growled, not dissatisfied, and tugged at one of Yusuke's long, light strands of hair.
"The old people's training was probably not bad," says Vegeta. "Do we want to have a little round?"
"Stop it!" With a jerk Yusuke burst the plant fetters. His body was trembling. The light hair turned dark again and the markings on his skin faded. "I hate him, I hate him with all my heart!" He muttered, slapping the rocky ground with his bare fists.
"Raishin was what he was," Kurama said gently. "You are what you are. Don't forget that."
"Sounds like the prophecy from a Chinese fortune cookie," Hiei snorted and gave Yusuke a contemptuous look. "Why did we even take you with us, if you just start to whine as soon as it comes down to fighting with all your might?"
"Now make a point!", Yusuke hissed, jumped up and glared at Hiei. "I don't whine and I can fight with all my might. I can prove that to you here and now!"
"Wait a minute, you two. I was the first to ask for a lap!" Vegeta pushed himself in between.
"You won't enjoy that as long as this washcloth fights with only ten percent," Hiei scoffed. "He pees himself at the thought that his power comes from a demonic gene. Typical human, zero skills, zero clue and zero guts!"
"You damn ...!", Yusuke cursed, angrier with every word. The colored drawings promptly reappeared on his skin, but unlike before, his eyes remained clear and his nails did not grow into claws. The blow he gave Hiei to the chin was tough and threw the little fire demon several meters into the fog.
"You see, it works!", Kurama laughed, relieved, and patted the startled Yusuke on the shoulder."You used the power without losing your humanity. That's exactly what I meant earlier. You are not Raishin's rebirth, no matter whether you were led to believe that at the time. The stronger side of you is still the human and without nasty tricks like this dust and your guilty conscience that you couldn't help him back then cannot be overcome. "
For a few moments Yusuke stood there very still and the tension eased from his body and he rubbed the back of his head with an embarrassed grin. "I guess I reacted a bit over the top."
"You could say that," growled Hiei, rubbing his aching jaw. "That was the first and the last time that you hit me with impunity. Next time I'll smack you on the wall for it."
"Does that mean I have to queue in the back?" Vegeta asked unsatisfied. He would have loved to test his power against that of the half-demonic Yusuke. "After all, I'm a guest and so I have priority."
"At the moment neither of us will fight anyone else except ourselves," said Piccolo a power word. "Or did you forget that we should come out at the other end of this damn tunnel sometime?"
"Say Piccolo," Kurama interjected before Vegeta could protest, "am I just imagining it, or is your skin getting lighter and lighter?"
The Namek raised a hand, examined the back of the hand closely, and sighed. "Almost looks like it."
"For what?" Asked Hiei suspiciously.
"I can endure a certain amount of time in dark buildings, but basically I am dependent on daylight due to my vegetation. At the moment it is not critical."
"How did you Namek people ever get into space travel?" Vegeta asked, shaking her head.
"Special lighting in the spaceships," said Piccolo.
"When does it get critical and what happens then?" Interjected Hiei. These new allies caused more trouble than they did any good.
"For the time
