Kai looked in silence at the gray sky from which thick snowflakes were falling. He had his hands pressed against the window pane and was staring outside. On the lake, the children skated, laughed and romped around. He blinked. Wasn't that Tyson, Max, and Ray down there on the Plastersteinweg? What did they want here?
Silently he sat down again on the uncomfortable, hard plastic chair. It was five to three.
Suddenly the station door was thrown open and Tyson stormed in. "Kai! Man Kai, we're looking for you everywhere!" Kai turned to him and motioned him to be quiet. He pointed to the brown wooden door he was sitting next to. "He's still sleeping, please be quiet."
"Oh!" Said Tyson, covering his mouth with his hand. In a hushed voice he continued: "Tell me, are you still waiting?" Kai nodded.
"But the weather outside is so great, we've just had a snowball fight and built a snow house, it's really great, afterwards there should even be a little Beyblade fight among the kids!"Tyson beamed. He had red cheeks and shiny eyes, and there was snow all over his clothes and in his hair." Come on, how long are you going to sit here? "he urged.
Again someone threw the door open. This time it was Max and Ray who immediately ran to Kai and Tyson.
"What is it now?" Asked Ray. “Is Kai coming?” He gave him a smiling look. All three seemed extremely happy and exuberant.
"Yes, come on, don't be a joke!", Max intervened. "You don't have that much fun every day, and when we have a break from training, we should use it!" He half turned to the others. "I just discovered a sausage stand! You think how great it tastes when it's really cold!" He laughed.
The three looked expectantly at Kai.
"Leave me alone," he said, and looked out the window again. "I'm not in the mood for that right now."
Tyson rolled his eyes and started shaking Kai."Man Kai, that's enough!"
“Don't touch me!” Kai stood up and brutally pushed Tyson away. "He fell backwards and crashed into a metal dining car, which clanked loudly.
"Kai!" Shouted Ray and looked at Kai angrily. Tyson rubbed his left elbow and gave Kai a hateful look. "Okay!" He shouted. "Then stay here and get moldy! I don't care!" He got up and left the hallway with quick steps, slamming the door behind him. Max followed him with a withering look at Kai.
Ray sighed while Kai sat down again, arms crossed over his chest.
"Kai, we're just worried. I know it's not easy, but you have to ..."
"Shut up!", Kai snapped at him. "You have no idea, get out of here, go back to the annoyance!"
Shrugging, Ray turned his back on him and walked away. Kai was left alone, and continued to stare out the window.
