4. It starts now!
Javier also had to stay in the background for the time being, because, as mentioned, his task was to get into the building as unnoticed as possible, which again did not suit him. He would have preferred to get involved in the fighting on the forecourt. These were a lot more dangerous but also more interesting than his assignment. But he didn't want to deal with Rique about it again. He had tried enough, but it was of no use. So he stayed a little off the beaten track for the time being to better monitor what was happening and to be able to better watch a good chance. He was completely reliable in matters like that.He had never disappointed Rique with something like that, so that he could have said that the black-haired man had not done his job. Even if the whole undertaking was a bit daring, with a little skill and experience it could even be done.
The streets became increasingly restless as negotiations in the building seemed to have started. The police were still calm, but they were now prepared for everything. Rebels were simply not to be enjoyed and the fact that there were dissidents among the demonstrators could not be ruled out. The last few months could have written volumes about it. The knot could have burst at any minute.
Little time passed before it got very loud. The police took a stand. Inés was still close to Raoul because she was still not completely at ease with the whole thing. If only she hadn't slept all the time during the preparatory courses. Why did she always have to be so lazy when it came to important things?Raoul took everything calmly and watched the scene with eagle eyes. It was really terrifying what kind of strong character the guy was. Sometimes she wished to be like him, because some things that kept pissing her off left him completely cold.
Suddenly you heard a noise, then a scream. The young redhead winced. She squeezed her buddy hand even tighter. "Take it easy, little one ... It was just a shot with a suitable victim." "I beg your pardon what ?!" She looked up at him, horrified. "Rebels are like that" "How do you know that these weren't our ranks?" "Because we'd never open fire-", but he got no further with his sentence, as the front row of police moved back a little. So the underground must have taken the initiative. The first row was set up for protection with large shields against the crowds who were running towards them. The rebels were not impressed in the slightest, however, they became even more cocky. Some attacked the police with batons, others preferred the hard right and beat people with them.
Javier watched his colleagues from a safe distance. It looked really funny how a kind of horde of wild monkeys attacked the overwhelming forces of the State Security. However, she was passive and initially only fended off. Real bores, the rebel thought. But the police were just useless and still they were too vigilant at the moment for him to sneak into the building, he knew that very well.
So it was time to keep waiting. But not for a long time ...
In the meantime, a few demonstrators had even advanced to Raoul and Dreamy, but it was still limited and even Dreamy still had a rough overview of the progress of the event. It did not stay that way for long, however, because some time later more rebels had made it to the back rows and mixed up the police there, which made it more and more difficult for Raoul to pay attention to Inés, because he had already had to let go of her hand. His eyes searched for her, but when he had her in view, he lost her again just as quickly. The young police officers were completely overwhelmed with the situation. In theory it all sounded so easy and simple, but the reality was a lot harder. In the middle of all this turmoil stood Inés, all alone and completely insecure. She only hoped that Raoul would finally come to her to get her out of it all, but unfortunately that remained wishful thinking. Dreamy could not defend herself adequately against the attacks of the rebels, for that she was walking too much in her head.
It was his chance. The chaos was perfect and nobody knew who was where. Everything went haywire. There couldn't have been better conditions for entering a building unobserved. Absolutely no one would see him.
The young man began to move slowly, always with the goal in mind. The other rebels are currently also using more powerful weapons than batons and hands.Firearms were not yet used, but smaller smoke bombs ended up in the hands of the resistance members.
The police became more and more cautious; never took his eyes off the people in front of him. It was just too dangerous. Now pleading looks were looking for the friend who would save him. Inés was so nervous that she wanted to yell. Raoul was almost on the front line now. He just had to be right in the middle of the action than just risking glances from outside. Now he was no longer the quiet, silent student but like a tiger on the hunt.
The crowd had already moved a bit to the left. Javier would have loved to run out of his skin. These idiots really blocked the shortest route to his destination. So he had no choice but to fight his way through the ranks. Overly careful and trying to remain completely unnoticed, he found his way through the crowd.Behind him he heard a gun crack, the first bullet in the barrel. Immediately he looked at the source of the noise, but one of his colleagues did. His eyes followed the gun barrel. This ball was meant for one of the only women in the ranks ...
