Dear Diary,

I don't even know where to begin, something extremely strange is going on in the city, the so-called "cannibal murders" are happening more and more often. Mum and Dad are thinking of leaving town, to be precise, they are already determined. I think they are exaggerating, something must have happened, nothing is on the radio and Mum has forbidden me to go outside, but it can't be that bad.
Dad is on the way to the train station, he said we couldn't drive because of the roadblocks and Mum is packing up a few things next door.
My curiosity won out, I pushed one of the boards aside in front of my window and looked out.
Outside, I didn't really see anything special, a group of drunkards stumbling through the streets and a few broken shop windows, it didn't look as bad as I would have thought.
I guess the newspapers are exaggerating, they exploit the history of the cannibal sect to the last. But now I have to call it a day, there's a knock on the door, Dad's probably back, I'm going to open it.

Later more.

That was the last entry, Diana put the little red book back on the bed where she had found it.
“Then that's probably the owner of the diary.” She pointed to the body of a young girl, which was lying eviscerated near the front door. There was another body in the bedroom, apparently the mother.
After the three of them had left the bar, they had run almost directly to the open front door of this house, so they decided to look around and they actually found something, apart from the horribly battered corpses they found an almost full refrigerator, even if they were due to the stink of putrefaction and the walking dead, when pretty much all hunger was gone, they still had to eat something, with an empty stomach their chances would only decrease further.
Diana packed as incorruptible as possible in her backpack while Rick and Ben continued to search the house."And found something else?" Asked Rick as he came down the stairs that led to the second floor, he no longer had the ax in his hand, but an elongated object that looked like a bamboo stick.
"No," answered Ben, who had just come out of the basement, "but what is that?"
He pointed to the item in Rick's hand. "I'll show you soon," he said with a grin, he never thought he would find something like that here ..
Probably a weapon, Ben thought, otherwise he probably wouldn't have put the ax down, but what kind of one?
"It's getting dark, we should spend the night here, the door can still be locked and it doesn't look like the two corpses will get up again."
Diana and Ben nodded, then they all made their way into the living room, the room with the least amount of devastation.
They sat down on the big couch and relaxed a little, the apartment was probably safe for now, at least if these things didn't learn how to pick locks.
Diana leaned to one side on Ben 's shoulder. He winced a little and turned bright red, he had never been particularly popular, he would never have dreamed of being so close to a girl. "We should sleep a couple of hours."
Without another word, Rick leaned back and closed his eyes, the bamboo stick still in hand.
It had been a really tough day, probably the toughest of her life, no matter how short. Diana fell asleep within two minutes, still leaning against Ben 's slender shoulder, at first Ben thought he could not sleep, the unfamiliar physical proximity made him nervous, but after ten minutes he was sound asleep.

"Shit ..." The acrid stink of putrefaction came towards her and she almost puked on one of the desks. The room she was standing in now was almost as bad as the school, even worse, with corpses everywhere, corpses of police officers. She was in the Detective Office of the RPD, after leaving the gun shop they were literally led to the main entrance of the Racoon Police Departments, mainly through half-blocked streets and even by a public bus.Strangely, there wasn't a single zombie on the way, which Toni almost regretted, she wanted to try the weapon.
After entering the building she breathed a sigh of relief, the large entrance hall was still completely intact, no blood, no corpses. That had given her hope, maybe the cops had put together a force that can take on the zombies? Maybe they had called the army over here?
But then they opened the door of this room.
Toni tried to suppress the nausea and watched Alan, who emotionlessly searched the corpses for ammunition and other useful objects.
He was just about to go into the small office in the far right corner when a zombie suddenly came out of this office and pounced on him. "Arrr… crap." He had dropped the shotgun and tried with all his might to prevent the monster from biting him in the neck, Toni was about to fire when an unfamiliar voice rang out."Get down!" Yelled a man who had just come out of the evidence room next to the detective office.
Alan ducked as far as he could and saw a nine-millimeter bullet sweep through the zombie's skull and throw it to the ground.
"Woah, that was close," said the policeman with a sigh. He was dark-skinned and had short black hair.
Alan looked at the man a little suspiciously, how had he survived so far when the rest of the police were wiped out? He was grateful to him, of course he was, but it was always difficult for him to show something like that.
"Who are you?" Asked Alan.
"Actually, I should ask you that, after all, I'm the policeman here," he smiled, but you could see exhaustion and despair in his eyes. "Martin Branghan, Officer Branghan, although that doesn't really matter." The young man took a few steps closer to Alan and propped himself up with one hand on the desks in the room.
Only then did Alan see the wound in the stomach area, a fatal wound, undoubtedly inflicted by zombies.Toni had overcome her nausea and leaned against one of the desks, she was so happy to see another person alive.
"And who are you? You still look pretty young."
- "Alan Riley," said the latter curtly. "My name is Antonia Williams." With a quick look she checked Alan and let out a sigh of relief, he hadn't gotten anything, but the policeman ...
"Oh ... Williams? Are you the daughter of Frank Williams? The banker?" She just nodded, what was the point of the question, it didn't matter.
Alan continued: "Where are the other cops?"
Branghan laughed out loud, but that laugh didn't sound happy, rather panicked. "The others? You can see them in front of you, the RPD was overrun, a lot of police officers and SWAT teams were killed on the street, in other words, the last cop in this whole shitty city is sitting in front of you."
Alan didn't look surprised, the police hadn't been prepared for such a situation, he'd thought something like that."Oh god," gasped Toni. - "Well, maybe the fat Irons is still alive, haven't seen him since the incident in the underground car park, but this madman won't be of any help to you either."
Branghan sank down on one of the wooden chairs. "We really should have listened to" you ", maybe it would have turned out differently, but we ignored their warnings, mocked them, threw them to the press ..."
Toni shifted back and forth nervously, the policeman seemed to know something, finally some information.
"Who are you talking about? Do you know what's going on?"
Branghan sighed. "You probably don't read the newspaper? The cannibal murders. The S.T.A.R.S. followed them up, examined an old property, when they came back they told weird stories of zombies and other monsters that had been created by a killer virus."
-"Virus?"
- "Yes, and now the best comes, this virus is supposed to have created, hold on tight ... Umbrella."The two teenagers widened their eyes, could one of the largest chemical companies in the world really be responsible for this? It was true that the majority of the town belonged to Umbrella, the company providing nearly 80% of the jobs in Racoon.
Alan thought of his father, he worked for the company, even in research, does he have anything to do with this?
“That can't be true, if Umbrella were to commit such crimes, they would have been stopped long ago.” Toni remembered that her family's bank often did business with Umbrella, sometimes even a big animal of the company, including its wife and daughter Dinner came, a certain Bilkin, or Borkin. The thought was absurd.
"Yes, that's exactly how we thought, we thought the experiences in the villa had robbed them of their minds. But now ..."
- “A virus, eh?” Alan thought of the corpses that got up again after they had been killed by the zombies, that would be an explanation, also the rapid multiplication of the zombies spoke for it.- "Do you have any other information? Anything that could help us?" He saw at the man that he didn't have much longer to live, he wanted to find out everything that was still possible.
- "The S.T.A.R.S, I don't know if any of them are still alive, but if they are, then they can tell you the most. Their office is on the first floor. Uuhh ..."
He doubled up in pain, the wound in his stomach area would kill him in a few minutes and he knew what that would mean.
"Before we go, I have one more thing to do, thank you for your help." Alan raised the shotgun and aimed at the cop's head. Toni opened his eyes in horror and knocked the weapon away. "What are you going to do? Are you crazy?"
Branghan smiled. "Don't worry, Miss Williams, he's doing the right thing, I'm going to die anyway, I don't want to get up a zombie again."
Toni understood that Alan just wanted to save him from this cruel fate, that was his way of thanking him for the rescue. She read from his arm and turned away, she didn't want to see that.
But instead of a shot, she heard a bloodcurdling scream. Nobody could scream like that, but a zombie wasn't that loud either.
"What was that?"
Branghan got up quickly and
