Chapter 14

"Nabiki darling, should I invite your Kuno over here and tell him about the wedding plans? Or would I rather invite his parents and we will make an appointment."

“Father!” She ran after him and grabbed the receiver from his hand at the moment Kuno's voice answered.

"Sorry I dialed the wrong number." Nabiki said quickly and was about to hang up the phone when she heard Kuno's voice again "Nabiki? Is that you?"

“I was quite sure that there was a hut here, darling.” The two hikers had reached the place, but they couldn't find the hut.
"Genma, there's never been one here, but it's getting late, let's just lie down here and sleep," said Nodoka, wearily.
"Yes, we'll do that." He sat down on the floor and suddenly they heard footsteps.
“Someone's coming, maybe we don't have to sleep outside after all,” the man said hopefully and got up again.
"Hello? Is that who?" called a voice.
"Yes, hello, we, me and my wife are here looking for a place to stay." Genma replied and then looked at the two Zukam like a man, he was already carrying a torch to be able to see something.
Amazed, Genma looked up at the sky and wondered why it had become so dark so quickly. The stranger had meanwhile arrived and held the light so that he only saw Genma at first. "I don't know from here, you are welcome to stay one night."Then he swung the light and saw Nodoka, startled the man whirled back.
"There you are at last." He then said softly and a smile that was anything but friendly appeared on his face.
"What do you mean?" asked Nodoka anxiously and took a step back.
"The legend comes true, I knew you would come, you have chosen a beautiful body." The man laughed and it seemed to get even darker and colder.
"I don't know what you mean. Genma help me," the woman looked at her husband, who was standing there petrified.
“He can't help you, nobody can. It's my job to kill you, or to be killed by you.” An icy wind rose and time seemed to stand still.
“I don't understand, I haven't harmed you.” Nodoka stepped back a little and hit a tree.
"She will come in the form of a woman, but don't be fooled, no matter how beautiful she is. You will recognize her by her face, there are scales there, if you see them you will know that it brings bad luck and death with it.Do you love her you turn to stone, do you hate her you turn to ashes. If you destroy them, you will become the strongest being in the world. "
The man said this softly and came closer and closer, "You cannot destroy her with any sword or weapon in this world, you can only be destroyed with your heart."
The man suddenly turned and walked over to the petrified Genma, then turned and laughed softly.
"Destroy your love and you have destroyed it, because in that sense she is only a woman who thinks with her heart."
Then he took out a hammer that was hanging on his belt and caught up and then dropped it.

Ranma tossed and turned restlessly in bed. He dreamed of his mother, how she was attacked and was all alone, how he died with her, couldn't breathe and threw himself up and down. He felt himself sink, then he saw Akane who looked at him with blank eyes and asked him if the ring had any meaning.He wanted to answer, but he had no breath and sank deeper and deeper without Akane's help. Then he saw Sora smiling coldly and turning to another and waving to him. "Nobody leaves me, nobody not even you. You said you love me and now you have given away your heart again, I will not accept that. I will destroy your happiness, your life and also that of your family and Akanes. You will live and suffer most "again Sora laughed and then slowly walked away.
Ranma had meanwhile lost consciousness and sank lower and lower without anyone noticing.

Akane woke up in the middle of the night and sat down candlestick. (What was that?) She wonders. (Why did I wake up?) The girl looked around the room, but could not see anything unusual, but said something to her that was wrong. (Is something wrong with Ranma?) She asked herself and got up to check on him, but then her eyes fell on the chain and she shook her head.(I don't really care. I don't know what to do, how should it go on.) She let herself fall back on her bed and stared at the door. (Shall I check on him? What should I tell him when he's awake?) She asked herself and stayed where she was.
