Chapter 16
-The decision-

Akane startled when the phone rang. Who else is calling at this time? She wondered and heard her father talking to someone. A feeling told her that she should hear it, so she crept down quietly.
"Are you sure?" asked her father, who was looking a little worried. I listened and then nodded.
"That's awful ... yes, I understand ... thanks for keeping ... goodbye." Soun hung up the phone and stood there for a while, Akane crept back into her room, amazed, she had never seen her father like this. But before she could worry about it, there was a knock on her door and her father entered.
"Akane, I need to talk to you." He started and told her about the curse that was now on Ranma. Akane listened to her father in shock, shaking her head desperately, her eyes filling with tears.
"How am I supposed to give him up?" she asked desperately and ran into Ranma's room.He lay still, as if he were sleeping. She stood still by his bed, her tears ran silently down her face, her resin seemed to want to burst. Akane didn't know how long she stood there looking at her beloved Ranma, but a hand put on her shoulder.
"How should I do that? I don't want to lose a loved one again," she said quietly.
“You can only save him if you give him up, there is no other way.” Soun also looked at the boy, who had grown very dear to him by now.
"How do you manage to live without mom?" his daughter asked softly.
"Sometimes I don't know either, but I know that she is always with me, here in my heart and at some point, when my life here is also over, she will come to pick me up and then we have eternity for both of us, what do we do it's out to wait a bit. And I've got you all I love. "He squeezed Akane's shoulder lightly and then took his hand away."I don't think the ring means anything, she's a witch, she put this curse on him." He explained quietly and all doubts that Akane had suppressed out of concern finally disappeared. She leaned over to Ranma, kissed him briefly. Then she straightened up, went to her room, got the chain and went back to him. Slowly she put the chain on, took Ranma's hand. "I love you, I will always love you and this necklace proves it, I want to give you something too, I hope you like it." She took out a small pendant that looked similar to hers on the chain. "That should always remind you. In eternity we will meet again." She said softly and kissed her lover again, let go of his hand, wiped away her tears.
"Ranma, I'm giving up on you, I'll go away and never see you again to save your life. I hope you won't hate me." Akane looked at him one last time and then walked out of the room.Her father was standing in front of it, looking at her. "Dad, I have to do it," she said quietly.
“Take good care of yourself, my angel.” Soun looked after his daughter and noticed how a tear flowed from your eye, Kasumi and Nabike also looked after their little sister.

The years passed, Ranma's parents had survived their journey and broke the curse and Ranma felt better than ever, only his heart felt empty. He always wore the pendant over his heart and every night he thought of his great love, who had given up her home to save his life.
How often was he traveling, looking for her to see her, to be able to hold her in his arms at least once, but he never found her, he never heard a single word from Akane.
