Another World

right now.
As always, I tossed restlessly from side to side, finally gave up, tied the leather cord from my neck, and turned the symbol back and forth in my fingertips. Then I put the leather strap back on and got up. I went to Susi to make sure that she was sound asleep, but nothing indicates that she was awake. To be on the safe side, I whispered: "Hey, Susi, are you still awake?"
She didn't move.
" Or are you already sleeping?" I crowed out. But she still didn't move. So I went to the forest again, calmly. When I was out of sight of the camp, I looked for a stick that was thick and heavy.
Since I thought a sword would be just as difficult. But unfortunately I only found a long fat one. then I stood up and imagined an opponent who was also armed with a sword and was standing across from me. At that moment I objected to the supposed slave trader. He had a deep, disgusting scar that ran all over his face, almost to his neck. He had a malicious smile on his thin lips. His eyes were just as dark as his things. But his hairy forearms were bare of fabric, so you could see his tattoo on his left forearm. The tattoo consisted of a snake winding its way through a skull, on the other side a long sickle-shaped scar found its place.
'That's what it would look like! I thought. I asked for the stick, and also tried to imagine how it would ward off the blow. For 2 full hours I beat around with the stick trying not to make it look hectic until I decided to go back.
Since the sky had already lightened a little.

When I got back to the camp site, Susi was already sitting in front of the glowing fire.
I sit down opposite her in silence.
"Where have you been?" She asked reproachfully and seriously.
"I was in the forest!"
"And what were you doing there?"
Susi got up, walked behind my back and pierced me with her gaze.
This made me very uncomfortable, I generally hated being stared at. But I didn't want to tell her that I waved a stick in the woods. To distract from the subject, I asked:
"How did you sleep?"
"I slept well, but not deviating from the topic, what were you doing there?"
“I think you'd laugh if I told you!” Suzy looked at me with her now-say-I'm-laughing-too-look.
"Okay, I practiced fighting with a stick!"
Despite promising, she turned and started laughing.
"Hey, stop laughing!"
I asked Susi. But it didn't stop
"What's so funny about it?"
She is not answering me. Without saying another word, we packed our things and rode on.
After a few hours, when the city gates of Daret came into view and Susi was still giggling to herself, I hit her:
"So now it's enough! Pull yourself together!"
Fortunately, she did.
Finally, after 5 days, we reached Daret. Just as we intended, Suzy went to the gun shop. Because I had no idea about guns and didn't want to be inside, I stayed in front of the shop. After half an hour she came out briefly and asked me to look for a hostel. I strolled through the alleys. I found a hostel on the outskirts of Daret, luckily they still had 2 rooms with 1 bed each. They weren't very large, but they were nicely designed. There were 2 chairs, a table, a bed and a closet in it. As soon as possible, I went back to the gun shop, where Susi was waiting impatiently for me.
"So did you find something?"
"Yes!"
I briefly explained how she got there. Then she said that she would be able to find a perfect sword for me on her own and that I could return to the hostel before. When I arrived at the hostel, I first took a bath. Then I packed myself in my bed, played around with the chain and asked myself:
`What is the chain supposed to be for? To kill me? `
But I couldn't think more because my eyes closed.

After a few hours passed, I woke up.I looked around, there was something on the table that was wrapped in a cloth. I got up quickly and unwound the rough cloth from the object, it was a long sword, with a belt, to which the scabbard of the sword was attached. At first I didn't dare to pull the blade out of its sheath, but I just couldn't resist and finally pulled it out carefully. My hands were shaking with excitement. The silver blade glistened in the moonlight, it was light, lighter than I had actually imagined. The pommel was decorated with some ornate things, overall the sword looked nice. I slowly lifted the sword up, practicing with the sword for a few minutes. Suddenly I heard echoing footsteps in the hallway, I quickly put the sword back in its sheath and slammed it on the table. The panic filled me for some reason. I threw myself on the bed, closed my eyes, and held my breath for a while so that no one could hear that I was panicking. Then the steps happily continued.
I got tired from all the panic, but woke up again after a few hours.
Although I knew that Susi did not have such good stamina at sword fighting, I really wanted to test my sword, and this time with a real opponent. I went quietly to her room. The curtains were drawn, but it shouldn't stay that way for long. The way her breathing sounds, she was sound asleep. I jerked open the curtains and said happily: "Good morning! It's time to get up!" She screwed up her eyes, looked at me and turned her back to me. Just as I had done with the curtains, I pulled the covers off her too. And then went out of the room, thinking that she was finally going to get up. I tied my hair up, got my sword and went back into Susi's room. But Susi had not got up, she was sitting on the bed and staring at the opposite wall.
"Hello? Do you want to get dressed?"But Susi shows no reaction. Furiously, I slammed the sword on the table and stomped down to have breakfast. Because I hated it when someone ignored me.
To seal my anger I ate as much as I could, then I went to my room, lay down in my bed and thought about a few things, after my thoughts seemed too pointless to me, I went to Susi's room. But she wasn't there, my sword was still on the table, but next to it was a note that said, `` I'm in the forest! `. So I took my sword in hand and decided to go there as well. After a few minutes, after I had entered the forest, I spotted Susi, who was aiming her arrow at something, I ran to her, but I stopped briefly in front of her. Without looking at me she asked:
"Do you want to practice too?"
I didn't answer. After she let the bowstring snap back, she took my sword from my hand."Hey, what's that supposed to be?" I nagged. But with the help of the belt, she tied it around my waist.
"So now you don't need to carry it in your hand any more! And now we're going to fight again, but this time with swords!" She went behind Baum and also took out a sword, she pulled it out of its sheath, I also pulled mine. She attacked me immediately.
After a few hard and less hard blows, which I fended off, Susi went down on her knees and looked around searchingly.
"What is it?" I wanted to know and looked around too, but I didn't find anything that looked suspicious.
"Today is the day!" she muttered absently.
I looked at her questioningly:
"What's so far today?"
Susi stopped inside and said to me:
"So we continue to train now!"
In the afternoon after many breaks and exercises. We went back to Daret and had lunch, Susi whispering to me:
"The rest of the day you can do whatever you want ..", she looked out the window, outside "..but don't leave the city!Don't ask why, because you'll get out soon enough. "
Because I wasn't particularly interested in it, I didn't go into it. I continued to explore the city for the last few hours.
And went back to the hostel early that evening. Before I went to my room I looked again in Susi's room, but it was empty. Without worrying, I went to sleep.

Only a loud noise made me startle. It sounded like a war horn. I didn't know what to do, so I threw my door open. Whereupon Susi stormed into my room. She put something on the table just before closing the door she said:
"Put this on, it will protect you a little!"
"What happened then!"
"You see right away!"
As quickly as possible I put on the thing that Susi had put on the table for me. It was a strange top that was covered with thin metal on the elbows and in the chest area. Since it was very thin, I put on my doublet anyway.I quickly tied my hair back, took my sword and tied it around my waist. Then I stepped into the hallway, where Susi grabbed my wrist and pulled me out into the street. She always looked carefully around the corners before we walked along there. At some point I asked:
"What's the matter?"
"You will now experience your first fight. Daret is attacked by Urgals. I was told that they were still at the gates, but now I believe that we will meet the Urgals in a moment."
"And you're only telling me that now?" I said with raised eyebrows. But she was silent.
Suddenly 3 Urgals ran towards us. Luckily Susi had a sword with her, with which she brought down the first Urgal. I hit the other's arm, and he barely missed me with his club. He made a high-pitched scream, in the next moment I imitated Susi and drilled it into his chest area. He slumped.
Suddenly Susi screamed in anger:"Jierad theirra Kalfis!"
You could hear a loud crack, the third Urgal was also lying on the floor in pain.
"How did you do that?"
"I'll tell you later, we have to go on!" Replied Suzy. So we kept running straight down the street, when suddenly 2 Urgals were wandering our way, Susi shouted to me:
"Keep running, I can do it on my own! We'll meet at the inn after the battle, even if it may no longer be standing!"
Then I turned left where I came out onto the main road and saw the real extent of the whole battle. Everywhere you could hear the crash of metal on metal and the painful moans that dripped. Suddenly I heard heavy steps behind me, and suddenly I turned around. 3 Urgals came running towards me. Even before they reached me, an arrow hit the foremost.
'There were only 2! I thought. But I had thought wrong,
