in my head . But voice, who had screamed like that, was way too far away to be next to me and I was quite sure that it was Murtagh. So there were only Susi and Eragon left, of whom I was on the horse. The rider dismounted the horse heavily, shifting the saddle. Then someone called:
"Shall I help you?", It was Susi, but she was also too far away to be the rider.
"No, I can do that on my own!" Replied someone who definitely had to be the rider, since the voice was pretty close. Then something pulled my upper body off the horse so that only my legs were on the saddle. I heard quick steps coming towards me. "But take care of your legs!"
"Yes, yes!", The rider muttered, well he knew who it was, it was Eragon. For a short time he carried me, he took a few heavy steps. Then he suddenly let go of me, only holding onto my right arm, but that was probably only because he didn't want my head to hit the floor. As in a rushing wave, a sharp pain went through my spine. Then Susi hissed at him loudly:
"I TOLD YOU SHOULD BE CAREFUL !!!"Susi had never let her voice sound so loud.
"She slipped out of my hands!" Eragon replied, but quieter than Suzy had done.
`` I also let my hand slip at some point and it ends up right in your face. Be prepared for something! I thought angrily. For some reason, I lost consciousness again.
After a while, I regained it and found myself covered again on the forest floor, by the warming fire. I slowly opened my eyes. "I think she's awake!" Said Murtagh. Fortunately, I saw everything more clearly again. Then I saw Susi, she leaned over me. I immediately asked her:
"What did you do that I shouldn't have noticed?"
"You don't want to know!" She replied.
"And why am I not allowed to know?" I bored with raised eyebrows. She just replies annoyed:
"I'm not telling you! And stop asking!".
´I'll ask you again in an hour, it doesn't matter!`
The sky had already darkened, and although I had slept the whole time, I was still tired. Still, I kept my eyes open. Suddenly the chain began to glow again, I noticed how it was sucking up my life energy again. With the last of my strength, I took the chain from my neck and put it half a meter away from me, then I was away from the window.
I was woken up by a "Hey, wake up!" I opened my eyes, but when I saw the chain, I closed it again. Someone took my hand and sighed, put the chain into it.
"Keep it in hand. It will protect you!" someone said in a soft voice. And that someone was none other than Eragon. Now I kept my eyes open.
"Why should I keep it? It just steals my life energy anyway", I couldn't believe that I could even say something like that.
"How? Tell me again, the chain has stolen your life energy before?" He asked, but it didn't sound like he wanted to make fun of me, he was very interested in it."Not just once!" I insisted.
"When was the last time that happened?" He wanted to know.
"Before!" I said bored.
Although I wasn't sure if it was "earlier" or "last night". Eragon immediately jumped up, went to Murtagh and told him something that led Murtagh to stare at him incredibly, as if he couldn't believe it. Then Murtagh went to Susi and told her something, then everyone packed their things and I was still on the floor, ignorant. Fortunately, Susi helped me up and in the next moment I was on the horse.
And rode through the night. After a few hours Susi rode up to me. At first she was silent and kept looking back. Now I understood what she probably wanted to tell me, but didn't dare.
"Are you into Murtagh?" I grinned at her. Briefly she stopped inside then she said quietly and shyly:
“Yes!” I turned Murtagh was about 100 yards behind us, with a smile on my face.Without turning around I asked:
"And do you think he's into you too?"
Susi doesn't answer that shows that she wasn't sure.
"Should I take over the task of asking him how he finds you? Oh! What a coincidence that is behind us, I could ride over there right now and give him good news!" I joked and pretended to be I would call for him right away.
Susi said angrily: "You won't do that!"
"Did you just want to tell me that? Or something else too?" I asked in a sympathetic voice.
"I thought you were mad at me for leaving you alone for so long and since we were upset together-!" She gushed, but I cut her off.
"No, it's okay. Go ride back to your crush. Maybe something will happen to you.", I smiled, when I had finished speaking, Suzy stopped to wait for Murtagh. After a few minutes it started to pour.It didn't stop until my hands and feet were numb. In the slowly lightening sky I saw a wing, but I wasn't quite sure I was wrong. Then the wings disappeared again in the sea of trees and was gone.
