Elena just heard the crack of the door lock. Immediately she straightened up. But Ivel was already outside. Elena knew the only place her roommate would go at half past five in the morning. Half past five? Elena could still sleep for half an hour.
The little round garden was behind the girls' quarters between the trees. Nobody knew about this little place of silence. It could be infinitely loud anywhere, it was quiet here. A little haven for a young girl at the ShinRa Military Academy. She cherished and cared for the little flowers lovingly. Flowers ... Before her parents sent her to this boarding school, flower seeds had been her mother's last present. The kind of flower populated the garden like a little wall. It was a circle of stones. Then came the flowers that her mother had given her. It really was a pretty little garden. The young girl was wearing a school uniform. Of course, it was the ShinRa Military Academy uniform.Slow steps brought her out of her thoughts. Without looking up, she greeted her friend while setting up a small flower.
"Hello Elena..."
Elena sat down next to Ivel on the floor, cross-legged, despite the fact that her skirt was getting dirty.
"You're here every morning. How long has it been going on?"
Ivel shrugged. and sat down next to Elena with outstretched feet.
"I don't remember myself ... Do you remember Miss Daveloce? I asked her about a place to plant my flower seeds. She let me have the little garden here."
Elena groaned annoyed. "Wow ... She's been retired for 6 years ..."
Ivel nodded. Miss Daveloce had been her teacher for two years. No longer, because she has been retired. It was also Miss Daveloce who had made Elena and Ivel partners and put them in a room. Ivel was petite and fought with shuriken. Elena was a little taller and was an excellent martial artist. Both complemented each other quite well in battle. And they had become good friends.
"Hey, honey, are you dreaming?"
Elena waved her hand in front of Ivels eyes.
"Yeah, I'm dreaming of Seph!"
"Oh man..."
Elena rolled her eyes in exasperation.
"Don't come to me with the Seppel early in the morning. I can't do that before breakfast."
Ivel nodded again. Elena was not enthusiastic about Sephiroth, the general of the SOLDIER, Ivel knew that. She also often spoke to her conscience. But Ivel was completely addicted to the silver-haired man, if she could, she would be with him all day, although she seemed rather annoying him. Very much, because especially recently he just put her in front of the door without words. She rarely got a "Hello." or a “day.” He looked at her even less often. It was like he didn't know her at all. It wasn't like that at all. No not at all. Ivel was Sephiroth's fiancée. Even if he didn't give a shit."Iiiiiiiiiveeeeeeeeeeeeeeel, do you mind stopping your growling stomach?"
"Uh?"
That was Elena's way of saying, 'Come on, girl, I'm HUNGRY!'
She pulled Ivel by the hand off the floor, turned it briefly and inspected it from behind.
"Everything paletti, are not dirty."
She said with a smile. Elena loved to take care of her friend. Otherwise, Ivel quickly became the target of minor bullying attacks due to her lack of weight. 'Anorexic' and 'Spaghetti' were just two of the friendlier names Ivel often heard. But Elena had to admit, sometimes she too had the feeling that a gust of wind would be enough to blow Ivel away. A strange idea.
"Oh. I'm clean, but you're dirty."
Ivel turned to Elena and patted her bum.
"So clean."
"Thank you Mama."
"Himself."
"Heh, Sephiroth. There is someone for you at the gate."
The silver-haired general winced involuntarily.
"Brown hair and school girl uniform.""Great, how did you know?"
"Send her away."
"You are pretty mean."
Almost everyone on the training ground now turned to Sephiroth and the girl in the schoolgirl's uniform. She had brown hair that was pulled back in a ponytail. And she was carrying a kind of bag, it was a piece of tufted fabric that was tied at the four corners to form a kind of bag. Zack could well imagine what was hidden in it. He himself had often received bentos from girls. But until now he had never noticed that a girl had dared to give one to Sephiroth. Sephiroth turned around, frighteningly slowly, which was evidence of his anger. The girl seemed to already know this and instinctively took a step back.
"What ... brain-burned idiot ... let you in?"
"The man at the door?"
She asked, particularly cunningly, she didn't mean to provoke him, did she? Zack swallowed. He could almost feel the blow to the girl."Aha. Come on."
Something, which means something, rather gruffly, Sephiroth grabbed the girl's arm and pulled her towards the exit of the training area.
"You others are kind enough to keep training!"
Sephiroth almost barked. Then he went back to the exit without further glances. He pulled the girl behind him so that she almost fell several times, even scratching her knees in the process, did not interest him in the least. And Zack wanted to go after him and was therefore not really interested in Sephiroth's training instructions.
"Damn it, get out of here! I never asked you to come here!"
Sephiroth pushed her against the wire mesh door.
“Wah!” With a practiced movement, she used the momentum to turn and stop safely.
"Ouch....."
But her knees buckled a little from the bruises.
Sephiroth still glared at her angrily from his maco green eyes. He pushed her aside and yanked the door open to push her through. Again she turned and this time held out the surprisingly undamaged bento."I got you off ..."
"I do not care!"
Sephiroth picked up the makeshift bag and threw it into the nearest trash can. Then he slammed the door in her face. He left her standing.
For a few seconds the girl stood motionless and frightened at the wire mesh door. Then she hung her head and began to cry softly. Apparently she hadn't noticed Zack yet. She just cried softly to herself.
While she was crying, Zack finally dared to step out of the shadows in which he had just been standing. Unnoticed, he went to the trash can and pulled the bag out again. It was dirty, understandable given the 'location'. Zack carefully brushed off some dirt. The crying stopped abruptly. Zack didn't immediately notice the silence that followed. Only after a while did he listen and turn to the girl.
Ivel knew that her eyes had to be red. Nevertheless, she looked at the black-haired, young SOLDIER with wide eyes. He had scared her.She had been so busy crying that she hadn't heard him come. Or has he been there the whole time? Had he overheard the argument with Sephiroth?
"Oh ... Ehehehe ...."
He suddenly looked embarrassed.
"Sorry ... I just heard that ... And thought to myself ... That it would have been a wasted effort for you to just throw it away. I think ..."
He skillfully undid the knot. He turned the Bento box briefly.
"Well, the content is probably okay ... But if you want to throw it away ..."
Ivel shook his head absently. Her thoughts centered on the fact that he had overheard the argument. He didn't speak to her about it.
"Keep it ... if you like ..."
The SOLDIER suddenly looked at her confused. He hadn't expected it at all, honestly hadn't thought that she would offer it to him. Ivel wiped his eyes and drove away the last tears.
"Sephiroth threw it away as always and I don't like it ... Keep it calm."HE shook his head though.
"Give it to someone you know and like."
He said, opened the door and gave her a comforting smile.
But Ivel shook his head again.
"Elena gets sick from tempura and salsify ... oh what's your name sir?"
She looked at him with her slightly reddened, but actually dark green eyes.
"Oh. Marriage. My name is Zack and for heaven's sake leave out the 'Sir'!"
Zack smiled at her.
"Ah, all right ... My name is Ivel. Now we know each other, now you can keep it."
She smiled apologetically, gave a small bow, and then ran away. And left Zack in the door with the bento. He sighed. It was probably terribly straightforward.
"Heaven Lord God! Ivel!"
Elena pushed her friend onto a chair and looked at her grazed knees.
"Eeeelena, it's all best, I'll put a couple of plasters on it, then it's over!"
Laughing, Ivel pushed Elena's face away. She didn't have to know that ...
"Seppel! Am I right ?!"
Elena looked angrily at Ivel. 'Seppel'. That's what she called Sephiroth.
"Elena, stop calling him Seppel. He doesn't like that ..."
"So what? I don't like him!"
Ivel sighed slightly annoyed.
"It's okay, Lenny. I'm fine."
Elena snorted contemptuously. She knew of the engagement, disapproved of it and Icel's advances to the general.
"Better give me the food!"
"It does not work!"
"What? Has he thrown it away again ?! This time he can ..."
"No, Lenny!"
Smiling, Ivel pulled her friend down by the shoulders to her knees in front of her.
"I gave it away."
Elena raised her eyebrows in confusion.
"Huh? Who?"
"Uhm ..."
How embarrassing. Ivel had forgotten the name. She rummaged through her memory. And found the name.
"Zack or something."
"Like 'Zack or something'? You don't even know the name of the guy you're giving a bento to?"
Elena asked incredulously.
"You have a blast. He threw it away again and you want to protect him again! "
Elena was right. He had thrown it away again, she had a bang and tried to protect him again. But that Zack was true!
"YES I know. But Zack really exists, because he saved the bento from the trash. And because I'm so smart and always wrap it in a cloth, you could even eat it."
"How? You waited until he had eaten?"
"No!"
Elena could be really dumb at times.
"No, I gave it for free and then left."
"Aaaaah yes."
Elena didn't look like she believed Ivel, but she gave in to Klein.
"Let's do our homework ..."
