Without further ado - have fun reading;)
Prologue:the contract
With quick steps she ran down the deserted street, the yellowish light of the old street lamps only sparsely illuminated the area around her. She could hear the rustle of passing cars, but everything around her was empty, seemed abandoned and lonely. Her long, brown hair was blowing in the cold autumn wind when she suddenly stopped. She struggled to regain control of her breathing, but fear dominated her body. She had leaned against the bare wall, trying to keep the tremors from her legs. For a brief moment she stood upright and turned her head to the right. Suddenly her bright blue eyes widened because the black man was at the other end of the path. He stood there still, like a predator that wanted to attack its prey at the right time. The black-clad stranger followed her all the way home. Again and again she wondered what was going on here, because she didn't understand it herself.
Panting, she pushed away from the brick wall and hurried on to flee. With her arms wrapped around her upper body to ward off the cold, she recognized the hoped-for goal from afar. Now it was necessary to overcome the last few meters, to get across the street, then it would be safe.
Without hesitation, she entered the zebra crossing. Everything around them was dark, no car in sight. She started to take the first step, the second. But at the next movement her body froze and stopped the young woman.'Hana ...'- a strange voice made her startle. She turned around with a jerk, but no one could be seen. Even the phantom, which she had hunted until recently, could no longer be seen. The brown-haired exhaled uncertainly, but then something else caught her attention. Light, bright light and it came closer and she had no chance of escaping it.
She opened her blue eyes, her body felt light - almost weightless - to the touch. It took some time for her eyes to get used to the blurry image that was apparently not a product of her imagination. She quickly realized that she was surrounded by water, but it was not difficult for her to breathe. She wanted to move, raise her arm, but a sharp pain ran through this area. She closed her eyelids, hoping it was just a dream and when she remembered the pictures a few minutes ago it was difficult for her to comprehend that this was reality. Yes, she wasn't dead as she expected.
"I can save your wretched life, but your soul belongs to me from now on.", came a cold, almost emotionless voice. Immediately the addressed opened her eyes and recognized a man on the assumed surface, he had white hair. His red eyes watched the female figure below with interest. A big smile had formed on his lips, but it looked cold and by no means friendly.
She opened her mouth, wanted to talk, but no sound came out of her throat. Nodding, she gave him the expected answer. Yes, she wanted to live, she still wanted to experience so much and achieve her goals, dreams and desires. In return, she was ready to sell her soul, if that meant being able to see her family one more time. It took a lot of strength, but she managed to slowly raise her right arm as if she wanted to reach for the strange man who, in an unbelievable situation like this, made her an offer that she couldn't refuse. She had already suppressed the thought that it was all just a bad dream, because although this thought was absolutely absurd, there was no getting around it that it was real. The pain, the need for life, this man, it all had to be real.
"Good.", Said the attractive white-haired man, unimpressed by her decision, and pulled a silver knife from his bag. With a quick, lightning-like movement of his hand, he let the sharp blade wander over the skin of his left arm, so that blood oozed out of the cut. He stretched it out, the dangerously red eyes never let go of his next puppet. When the first drop of blood reached the surface of the water, all of the liquid turned a deep red.
The woman held her breath in amazement, because now the line between reality and fantasy seemed to have been broken. As if out of nowhere, black chains appeared behind her from the black uncertainty. They wrapped tightly around her limbs, her entire body. It hurt when they cut into her flesh, but no scream could be heard. She could feel the pressure of the black chains, just as she could hear this force, which now flowed through every single cell. Slowly she was dragged by the enslaving chains into the black nothing below her, immersing her in a new, dangerous world with a monster as master.
So, here it ends once ^^ Hope you enjoyed it. Incidentally, the first chapter is already in progress because I am currently having a creative high: D In addition, I was really impressed by the story: P
