Chapter 4:Trust
Before anyone in the company noticed the carnage, Shiro and Hana decided to leave the party early. As far as the parking lot, the two did not speak to each other, but the demon watched with amusement the changed state of his puppet.
The sports car drove lonely down the dimly lit street. While the brown-haired woman had fixed her gaze out of the side window of the car, the corners of his mouth turned increasingly upwards. Still, there was silence between the two.
When the four wheels came to a standstill, Hana stirred for the first time in minutes and was about to get out when she felt strong pressure on her shoulder. "I have to do something in the near future, so make sure you use the free time to get back on your feet. I'll get in touch with you." Feel the ear. So he had to be close to her. She didn't reply, just opened the door to get out. That strong touch sent an ice-cold shiver down her spine. Such an eerie feeling that time had stopped for those seconds of closeness. She just wanted to get out of here quickly. No matter where, the main thing is that she can get away from this cruel man.
After getting out of the car, she entered the apartment building without looking back and disappeared into the dark corridor. Quick steps led her to the door of her apartment. She searched frantically in the small black handbag for the silver key that should finally give her peace of mind. Suddenly everything broke out of her and hot tears ran down her cheeks, dripping silently onto the hard floor. The strength in her legs increasingly lost her, so that she slid to the floor. She cried incessantly, sobbed and leaned limp against the wooden door next to her. She couldn't go on like this anymore, her little world, which she had just received again, was shattered with every fatal act that she had to perform. At least she had some peace and quiet for the next time. That thought alone managed to make a small but visible smile appear on her lips. When she heard the familiar sound of the front door, her petite frame jumped up and with all her strength she heaved herself back to her feet. Her now calm fingers fetched the key from her hand luggage and she quickly unlocked the lock and took refuge in the four walls. She closed the door behind her with her foot and went straight to the bathroom.
A shower and a comfortable robe later, Hana was in bed, but she still couldn't sleep. She had fixed her eyes on the ceiling. She felt so tired, so sluggish, and yet she did not want to succeed in entering the realm of dreams. She lay motionless for another full hour, remaining in the same position, and then handed it to her. She threw the covers to one side with a shrinking motion and rose from the mattress. Quickly put on a little more sweatpants, Hana wanted to think clearly in the fresh air.Because of this, she got her key and put on her shoes. Just as she had taken the first step into the cool corridor, she was about to lock the door, but then she heard faint footsteps coming much closer. Immediately she turned her body around on its own axis and looked seriously in the direction of the stairs, but when she realized who it was, her features became unusually gentle.
"Good evening, neighbor. A little late to go out on the street, isn't it?" It was the familiar voice of the new neighbor who met her with a friendly smile. "Better than lying sleepless in bed.", She replied and watched his movements. He must have noticed her dark circles under the eyes or the pale skin, because he looked at her in astonishment, eyed her as if something was wrong with her - which he probably should have been right about. Nevertheless, he did not address these signs, instead he simply went to his apartment door and unlocked it without further words.
"If you feel like, I'll make some good tea. Do you want to come in?", The young woman was about to start moving again, but when she heard Haruto's question, she stopped suddenly and turned to him. Surprise shaped her eyes. Her thoughts were going crazy at that moment, but her head nodded slightly. She just thought 'what the heck' and followed him into his apartment.
Amazed, she let her gaze wander through the strange apartment. In the anteroom she took off her shoes - after all, she wanted to start a walk - and ventured further into the room. Behind her, she could hear Haruto's footsteps, but didn't turn around. She felt nervous, insecure, and that was something she absolutely didn't like. But now she had agreed, now she also had to go through.
"Come on, I'll show you everything.", His words were so gentle, it was unfamiliar. Her fingers clutched the end of her vest sleeve, trying to hide the marks on her wrists. It would only raise uncomfortable questions and she wanted to prevent that. The young man, who was previously behind her, overtook the standing figure and took a few steps away from it. But his movements came to a standstill when he noticed that Hana was still standing in her place, rooted to the spot, her gaze lowered.
He cocked his head and an innocent smile graced his lips. "We can stay here too," he suggested, but the tone of his voice showed that this was by no means meant to be serious. Her petite body suddenly jumped up, she plunged back into reality. Immediately a soft shimmer of red stamped her cheeks, because it was not her intention to sink so obviously into her thoughts. A hasty nod followed and the brown-haired woman managed to break away from the place, making the distance between him and her grow smaller and smaller.
As time went on, an intensive conversation ensued between the two of them, which brought them closer together and they became more familiar. This also had an impact on the existing mood. They both laughed happily and worries and stress were forgotten for Hana during these minutes of conversation. For a long time she could be carefree again, he gave her this feeling and she enjoyed it to the full. The topics were very banal, everyday as well as private areas were dealt with in this talk.
The hand of the wall clock moved increasingly, but no one paid any attention. Only when Haruto was about to bring the empty cups of the tea made to the dishes did he find Hana lying on the couch. Her face took on peaceful features, her eyes closed - she was asleep.
Suddenly his gaze turned serious, the corners of his mouth pulled down as he bit his lower lip. This was the opportunity, an opportunity not to be missed. The puppet lay there defenseless, slept calmly and knew nothing of the existing danger. He could finish his job of destroying the annoying devils' puppets here and now.
His hand went down his body to his left lower leg. There the calm fingers pushed the fabric of the trousers upwards so that the handle of a weapon became visible. Without making a sound, he took it out of its hiding place and looked coldly at the iron blade. The gold rose, the symbol of his organization, was depicted on the silver metal. This specially developed weapon, which in this case was a knife, ensured that the black chains, which were invisible to humans, were also severed. The poison on the blade would end this female body on the couch.
The arm rose up, his cool eyes fixed Hana like a hunter on its prey. Every movement, every twitch, no matter how small, was recorded by him. "Why are you making it so easy for me?", His voice was quiet, barely audible and he felt the tension rise in his body. The grip on the knife tightened and when the hand had reached the highest point that could be reached, only a few seconds separated him from his successfully completed task. Thus, the world was one step closer to being delivered from all evil. Still, it was a shame for him to kill a young woman like her. She was cute and talking to her had shown him that they were together a lot. If it weren't a slave doll to a demon, he could have imagined carrying it out. But the hatred in him increasingly prevented this. He had to end it, here and now.
With a quick jerk his arm went down, ready to drive the sharp blade into the defenseless body.
Just as the metal separated from the skin by more than an inch, the attack stopped. As much as he pressed, his knife wouldn't move an inch. He looked helplessly from this to the sleeper, at the same time wondering how that was possible. The attack should have ended fatally, but now his entire arm was frozen. He quickly found the reason for it. A black aura emanating from Hana enveloped the body and served as a kind of protective armor, indestructible that not even the prepared cutting edge had any effect. He just got stuck. Haruto leaned over her, his free hand going to her neck. His fingers were allowed to attack the soft skin, but he knew that normal weapons or his bare hands could not kill these soulless servants, only cause slight damage, they were too protected by the black magic of the chains, mostly from the Demons ran out. The stronger the demon, the stronger the protection, and Shiro was one hell of a strong one.
The young man straightened up again, ran his fingers through his dark hair, and let out a sigh. Why couldn't he just kill her like other puppets?
He put the knife back and stepped away from the couch for a moment. With long strides he went into his study and took a thin needle and a fine strip of paper from the bag on the wooden desk. With that he went back to his sleeping guest, who was not aware of the actions. Carefully he reached for the rest of her free hand and guided the needle to the thin area of skin. As the tip penetrated, the red liquid dripped as gravity told it to. Before the resulting drop could work its way down, he put the paper on the tiny wound so that the strip soaked up and took on the dark red color.
"I'm curious what secret you have with you," he muttered to himself and quickly scurried back to his desk. On top of this he placed the small piece on a transparent surface
