When Sasuke disappeared, Naruto was training with Jiraya, but after exactly a year he disappeared. Jiraya turned every single stone in Konoha, but did not find it.
When he gave up looking for Naruto, he returned to Konoha Village and reported to Tsunade. She couldn't believe that Naruto had just disappeared like that.
Immediately she called Naruto's friends over and asked them if they didn't know why Naruto had disappeared.

But they didn't know the answer either. Sakura was already starting to cry because she has probably lost one of her friends now. Lee tries to comfort her and said: "Hey, I'm still here!"
That only made her cry even more. ° such a crybaby -.- °
Now Hinata said somewhat shyly: Will Naruto-kun-come-back? "
"I don't know ... Hinata," said Tsunade.
"Maybe Akatsuki caught him too," Neji said.
"That could be", said Kiba and Akamaru barked in agreement.

The boys still hadn't made up their minds what might have happened to Naruto.
You stood between two decisions.
Either Akatsuki caught him, or he was sitting confused in some cave or something and got lost.

The girls hoped for the second and a couple of the boys hoped for the first, because they wanted to have another adventure and the other guys just waited calmly to see what could happen.
When it was finally noon and they didn't want to discuss any more, they went home.
