Prologue "Fairy Tales of Light and Dark"

"Wait Will!"

The little girl heard her brother's calling, which penetrated faintly through the thick clouds of the evening mist. It was dark and cold and without her two older brothers by her side she was afraid, so alone here in the dark.

Her short legs moved, she began to run, driven by the fear that they would leave her behind and forget.

"Wait brother! Stay here! ”She shouted in an excited, shaky voice that was already a low sound through pure tears.

She walked down the old, uneven, cobblestone path that lay ahead of her until her clumsy running skills forced her to the ground, her knees slid across the hard floor, and the fabric of her pants scrubbed her skin before her hands tried to catch.

"... ouch! Uweehh ... "

“So wait, Willhelm! Come back! ”, The little girl heard the familiar voice of her brother Jacob, who was finally with her again. She recognized him immediately after he offered her his warm hand to get up.

“Sorry, Lousie. That probably hurt. "

“What's the matter, Lousie? Did you fall? ", Asked Willhelm, who tapped her forehead lightly with one finger while Jacob took her hand.

“Let's go to the fountain and play hide and seek, Louise. And only you are allowed to hide. "

Louise didn't answer, just silently shook her head and clasped her brother's hand with her fingers as they moved on.

"She does not want to."

They stopped at the old well in the village, the place where the three siblings always spent so much time together and where they played together almost every day. They had played hide and seek yesterday too. Except today.
Not today, because it was a very warm day and the place was overcrowded with people, especially residents of this village. Surely they would be able to play here again tomorrow, Lousie thought, and was already looking forward to her older brothers returning from school tomorrow.

"Hey, here is something!"

Willhelm ran excitedly around the fountain to the place where he had discovered something and, indulging in the urge of his childish curiosity, dropped carelessly on his knees.

"Oh how old!"

"What did you find?" Asked Jacob.

"A book ..." he answered and flipped wildly through the old paper and his eyes flew over a randomly chosen page.

"An ordinary book," said Willhelm, and rolled the entire contents back to the first page.

In the shining, shining age in which you smile now,

without hating anyone or regretting death

we will surely meet there.
