more like you're playing the slippery hero for Anna now."
"Might be." grinned Hao. "Tell Ren, how is the Blessed Virgin? Or is it just her name?"
Ren looked aside, embarrassed and red-faced.
The next morning there was total chaos in the inn.
Faust had the excellent idea to carry out one of his experiments in the kitchen. This was therefore totally smoky and the doctor full of soot. Anna gave him a juicy lecture that he should kindly do something like that in his room. Or when it was more dangerous and unsafe things far from En.
Ren, who had also spent the night here, again argued deeply with his favorite sparring partner HoroHoro.
Shaking her head but with a faint smile on her face because it was actually like always, Manta climbed the stairs to the upper floor. He went straight to Yohs past all the bedrooms. Once there, he knocked and waited. But he didn't hear anything from the room and after knocking again he couldn't hear anything again, he just went in.
In Yoh's room it was pitch black as the curtains were still drawn. Nevertheless, the little man could see that Yoh was still lying calmly in bed, ignoring the whole thing that could be heard upstairs.
Sighing, Manta went to the windows and pulled the curtains aside, so Yoh pulled the covers higher and continued to hide in the bed.
"Yoh you have to get up!" he then called. "When Anna has finished punishing Faust, she will grind you right again if you are not finished!"Yawning tiredly, Yoh sat up and rubbed his eyes. "You can't sleep well with all that screaming anyway. What's wrong with him?"
Still tired, Yoh shuffled over to his closet to get his school uniform out.
"HoroHoro and Ren are arguing again."
Yoh started giggling. "Yes, you can hear that."
Manta smiled himself shortly before it disappeared again and he continued to tell. "Faust almost blew up the kitchen that you didn't hear that surprised me. Anna is scolding him for that."
"Oh, so there is no breakfast? What a shame."
"Tamao tries to come into the kitchen to quickly fix something. But I think you can forget that. The kitchen is full of smoke and completely black."
Yoh started laughing again. "Seems like a big experiment."
"Yes, and when Anna is done punishing Faust you'd better be done otherwise you only make Anna angrier."
"I'd better avoid that." nodded Yoh.
Manta then looked a little confused at his friend. "Um Yoh ...?"
The Asakura just slipped into his white shirt, which he left open as always, and put his orange headphones behind his ears. "Yes, what is the Manta?"
"Why do you still let Anna command you around? I mean now that you are no longer engaged and all that."
Yoh really seemed to think about it for a moment before answering. "Anna keeps the whole place going. Our friends all listen to her and Hao does what she tells him too." he grinned.
However, that didn't last long and tears flashed in his eyes. "Besides, I still don't dare to contradict her."
Manta made a face and hung her head. "You will probably never dare to do that."
Suddenly it was dead quiet in the whole house. Anna had probably finished punishing Faust and Ren and HoroHoro could no longer be heard arguing.
"Yoh! Manta!" The Itako then called from the basement. "Where are you?"
The asakura immediately grabbed his school supplies and went downstairs with Manta.
The school day passed relatively uneventful. Hao, of course, was in the class of the other three.
As Manta prophesied, the surprise test wasn't a big challenge for him. Only for Yoh who obviously hadn't learned how he should.
Despite HoroHoro's and Ryu's help, Faust had to tidy up the kitchen almost all day. Lunch looked accordingly.
In the evening it was very quiet in the otherwise very chaotic house. Faust had to do his detention. Ryu spent the evening at his gang again. Lyserg had to study for school. Chocolove work. Manta had to go home because he didn't show up there yesterday. Run and Pilika spent a quiet evening in their apartment. And Ren and HoroHoro made the city unsafe with Jeanne and Damuko.
Anna and Tamao watched a series while Hao and Yoh were supposed to take care of dinner.
Since the younger Asakura, as is well known, did not bring anything together that would be even close to being edible, he actually only showed Hao how to use the stove and the other utensils. When the two were finished and Hao was just taking out the dishes to be able to serve everything nicely, Yoh tasted his brother's creation.
"You can really cook wonderfully Hao. I wouldn't have thought you could."
Grinning, he handed his younger brother a couple of bowls to help him. "It's not that difficult. You should have tried cooking five hundred years ago or even a thousand years ago. It was a lot more exhausting to make something edible. Now it all goes very quickly through all these electrical devices make it a lot easier.
At the Patchee I was even allowed to hunt, pluck and gouge my own food. "Hao smiled at his brother.
"If Anna tastes this, she will definitely have to spend many hours in the kitchen."
"Is not bad." waved Hao away. "I can think of worse than cooking."
Yoh furrowed his eyebrows. "How about being alone again?"
"Why do you ask when you already know the answer?"
"I'm sorry. I'm just happy that my brother is here. When I was little I always wanted one." grinned Yoh.
"You and Anna are probably the only ones who are happy about my presence."
"Oh what that settles down." said the younger, carefree as always. “They had to get used to Ren and Faust first.
"I have enough time for all of us." laughed Hao. "But if we take our time now, Anna will get angry."
"You have to teach Yoh to cook like that too." praised Anna after dinner. "If not, he'll probably get fat and plump when we've moved out and only eats ready-made meals."
Yoh choked on his tea at the thought. Hao started laughing and Tamao blushed.
"You can't always rely on someone in the house to cook for you." Anna continued unmoved. "And your future wife will also be happy if you can serve her something edible with which you do not poison her and then give the poor girl an early death."
"Don't you think you're exaggerating a little?" pouted Yoh.
"No." Anna shook her head. "You'd better be glad that you haven't had to cook for so long so you've forgotten how terrible your cooking tastes."
A small smile now appeared on Tamao's still red face. Hao tried nowhere near to hold back his laughter.
"Now clear the table and do the dishes." Itako said before she sipped her tea with her eyes closed.
Still a little pouting, Yoh got up and when Hao wanted to get up too, Anna held him back.
"You stay here Hao. Tamao will help Yoh."
Immediately the pink haired nodded and helped the younger Asakura clear the table and move everything into the kitchen.
After the two had left the room, Anna got up too.
"And how does the evening look like?" asked Hao who also got up.
"After Yoh and Tamao want to spend their intimate togetherness, we will allow ourselves a bath.""So do you think the little girl will finally be able to overcome her shyness?"
Anna looked at Hao in amazement. "Are you really interested in that?"
"Wouldn't it be normal for me to be interested in my brother's relationship crap?" he asked the other question.
Anna nodded at that. "It took a lot of nerves to talk Tamao out of her worst fears. So I guess she'll make it today."
When the Itako with the long haired people passed the open kitchen door, they saw Yoh washing the dishes and Tamao standing next to him with a tea towel and watching him furtively.
After the two went on, Anna couldn't help but smile.
Hao grinned and took Anna's hand. "You know what they say, if you are happy you shouldn't want to be happier."
