Sei mein Leben – sei mein Tod

3rd chapter

A few days passed in which Genma and I did not see each other. But it was also because I had to go on a mission, and so did he. But we weren't or had to be the same, Genma was rather annoyed when he found out from me that Kakashi would come with me. After a few quiet words, Genma went on her mission pouting and irritable. The week in which I had to spy on some enemies from Sunagakure with Kakashi and another Anbu went by relatively quickly. It wasn't really exciting either, but unfortunately it had to be done.

Last night, before we would leave for Konoha again ...

The third member of the group, whom I only saw now and then, was sleeping calmly by the fire that we had kindled a few hours ago. Kakashi sat leaning against a tree to the side and looked at one of his books. I sighed softly and poked around the fire with a thin branch. Actually, I could or should sleep because Kakashi was on the guard, but I couldn't sleep. The joy of finally seeing Genma again tomorrow made me jittery and quite excited. Especially since I was finally able to take a shower again. A crack behind me pulled me out of my thoughts and I jumped up, startled. I jerked around and held my kunai ready to fight. But a hand that came towards my arm was faster and held me tight with a firm grip. “What was that supposed to mean, Tenshi?” The gray-haired man's lips murmured and a little annoyed. Sighing and still frightened, I let myself fall back on the floor. "Scare me again like that and you're dead," I gasped hoarsely and the person addressed sat down next to me. I glanced at him slightly, I was surprised that he addressed me by my first name. When he said my name, it sounded so smart. I shook my head slightly at the thought and sighed softly again. "Is something? Do you like to talk?" The two questions came carefully from Kakashi and I looked up and at him in surprise. I shook my head again and waved it off. "Everything's good ... just ..." I started and stopped. The words Genma said to me came back to my mind. That he wouldn't have said anything to Kakashi.

"You lied to me," I said into the silence and stared into the blazing fire, which seemed to be slowly going out. I got up quickly, took two pieces of wood and carefully placed them in the fire. “How did you come up with that?” Even when I had turned my back to the Hatake, I could almost feel him raise his eyebrows. "I told him that you were with me one night to bring me food because he told you I wasn't eating enough," I replied curtly to his question and swallowed lightly before I got up and myself turned to him. "Oh ... you mean that. Well ~", Kakashi started and looked at the floor. “You noticed it yourself, didn't you?” The question came on my part carefully and I gently put my hand on his shoulder. "It's okay, Hatake Kakashi, but the next time you can just tell me that you've found out for yourself. Then you don't have to make up any stories," I said, laughing quietly, and sat down next to him again. I had to yawn because tiredness overwhelmed me. Without meaning to, my eyes closed and my head landed gently on Kakashi's shoulder. Of course, I didn't notice that it was getting slightly red under his mouth mask. At some point my head slipped off his shoulder and onto his lap. When I woke up in the morning I felt good. My head was gently bedded and so I sighed softly. At first I didn't notice that my pillow was moving gently and slowly up and down. Slowly I perked up and opened my eyes, only to scream softly when I saw who I was lying on. I quickly put my hands in front of my mouth so as not to wake the two men. Swallowing hard, I got up and looked around briefly. I knew that behind one of the bushes there was a small pond. That's why we stopped at this point. After looking around for a few seconds, I saw the right bush and in the next moment I was already standing at the small pond. I knelt on my knees and looked into the water. The surface of the water was so clear that I could see myself. Clear dark circles formed under my eyes. After all, you couldn't really sleep much on a mission, but it was enough to at least get a good rest. I was clearly looking forward to my next vacation, which should finally begin after this day.
It didn't take me long to freshen up and so less than ten minutes later I was back at our rest area, where Kakashi was already sitting happily packing up our things. He put out the last sparks in the campfire with a small vessel and then got up to kick our colleague in the side. "Wake up. We want to leave," he said in a bad mood. I furrowed my brow when I saw his bad mood. But I shook my head and pushed my worries and thoughts aside. A few minutes later we shouldered our bags and set off. "It shouldn't be too long before we arrive in Konoha," Kakashi uttered flatly and ran on. I nodded gently and the face mask slid up a bit.

"Up there ... finally," I breathed more to myself than to my two comrades-in-arms. We saw the gate, which told us from afar that we were home. The closer we got, the slower we got in our race. The closer we got, the more I realized who was standing at the gate to Konoha and seemed to be waiting for me. "Genma", I mumbled and my steps, which were actually slower, got faster again. In the next moment I was seen in the arms of the brown-haired man again. Genma was about to peel off my face mask, but remembered that the mission wasn't over. I quickly freed myself from him and took a step back. "My mission is not over yet. Come to me tonight," I whispered so that only he could understand. I saw him nod slightly.
"Come on, Yoshida. You have enough time afterwards," growled Kakashi and walked past me. Unnoticed, he brushed mine with his hand. Visibly confused, under the mask, I looked after the gray-haired man and just nodded gently. "See you later," I said to Genma and walked with my team to the Hokagen house. We stopped in front of the door and the third party knocked on the door. After an 'in' came from inside, the door was opened and we stepped into the room. We kneeled on the floor in front of the desk.

Less than 15 minutes later we were able to leave the Hokagen's room. With a wave of the hand I pulled the mask off my face and stowed it in my backpack. I sighed softly as the third Anbu said goodbye and ran off in a completely different direction. I stretched slightly when Kakashi joined me.I looked at him, puzzled and cross-eyed. “What was that supposed to mean earlier?” I gave of myself questioningly and put my hands in my trouser pockets. Kakashi folded his arms behind his head. "I don't know what you mean, Yoshida," he said promptly and I saw him close his eyes for a moment. "You are lying to me. You know exactly what I mean," I growled softly and looked at the floor as I ran.
Kakashi gave a hoarse laugh under his mask and looked at me. "You mean the touch on your arm? I wanted you to finally move your backside. You can see your loved one all evening long." Calm, but almost toneless, these words came out of his mouth. Again I gave a small sigh and shook my head. "You are an idiot, Kakashi. You really don't know how to deal with women," I said promptly in a bad mood and left the gray-haired man standing alone, in which I ran off. I just wanted to go home. His simple words had hurt me. I didn't know why. But I hoped for something else in what he did. Confused, I shook my head as I ran. "I'm such a stupid cow", I breathed to myself and slowly the tears came to my eyes. I vigorously wiped my eyes with the back of my hand and my steps slowed. I realized that I had run straight to my apartment. I quickly buckled my backpack and looked for my key. Looking for a few, I found him at the bottom of the floor. Sobbing a little, I opened my apartment door. In the hallway I threw my shoes off my feet and threw the bag in the corner next to the apartment door. With quick steps I ran into the bathroom. The bathtub called me to rest.

I wasn't paying attention to the time and that's why I was pretty frightened when I saw the key that was turned in the keyhole. I quickly got out of the tub, pulled the plug and grabbed my plush bathrobe, which I put on and tied around me in record time.
"Oops, if I had known that you greeted me like that, I would have come in the same elevator", grinning and laughing softly, the sentence came over the lips of the brown-haired man. "Idiot," I laughed and ran towards him. The next moment I was in his arms. "I missed you," I breathed softly, pulling myself up on his shoulders to put my lips on his. "Me too," he mumbled against my lips.

“Was the mission very bad?” Genma asked me as we sat together on the couch in my living room. I shook my head slightly. "No, everything's okay. My team behaved well. Kakashi had been re-elected as leader. So everything as always," I said quietly and had to laugh slightly. "How did you go?" "Everything is fine. I was back home with my team after two days," he grumbled quietly. I looked questioningly over my shoulder at his face. "Gai was injured and so we just had to go back," he laughed hoarsely. I just nodded slightly. "Oh," I gave a quiet answer and turned slightly on my side so that my ear was on Genma's stomach. The tiredness caught up with me. “Are you tired?” I heard the brown-haired ask, but I was too weak to answer.
