Everyone was happy when Amber was released from the hospital because she had been there too long. The sun shone down from above and lit up the house, one even believed sometimes that angels lived here when someone walked through the house flooded with light.
Tom had almost the same characteristics as his father if you didn't count sleep. Amber stood in the doorway and laughed out loud when she saw what Thomas had done to Kai, Kai turned to her and couldn't even grin about it. "I'll go do the rest." she kept laughing. Kai was wet from top to bottom, which meant for him to take a shower again. "What do you always do with your papa?" she asked Tom and dried him off. He fidgeted and just didn't want to put on his romper. "Oh Tom." Amber sighed.
Now Kai stood behind her and tried to help her with funny faces, Tom laughed in his baby way. "Now you do what you should." she had put it on and turned around. "You look pretty exhausted, Angel." she shook her head. Kai loved his wife too much to just accept her shaking of the head, he took Tom from her and pushed her to the door with the other hand. "You are resting now." he said decisively. Amber sighed heavily but preferred what Kai said to her, she had not had enough sleep lately anyway and urgently needed some rest.
Kai saw it in the living room when the front door flew open and a loud voice was held through the rooms. "Anyone at home?" Hitomi called. "Mouth to Hito." he grumbled. Tom screamed loudly so that Amber should have woken up again but she didn't come. "It’s all right, taller, I’m just Aunt Hitomi." she crawled him a little and he became calm. "How do you always manage that?" asked Kai and let himself fall on the couch. "I have a lot of experience with children, after all, I'm not a trained kindergarten teacher." she grinned. "But you rarely have anything to do with babies!" he answered."That's right, but I have a connection with children like you have seen." she patted his shoulder and sat with him. "And Amber got a lot from Lex, you know?" he nodded. Now it occurred to him again Amber and Marcus have had to stand on their own two feet from an early age, he sighed and looked at Tom. "You can manage it, K." she smiled. "You're right, it just doesn't seem like that to me."
Amber was lying in bed and had heard Hitomi and Thomas screaming but she wanted to see if Kai could do it himself. And it looked like he had made it too, she sat up and looked out the window. Her gaze wandered to her guitar, she used to play a lot on it and now she stood there and waited for someone to use it. Amber threw back the covers, took paper from the table and sat down on the floor next to her guitar, she wanted to write something again.
The sounds penetrated through the whole house, it seemed as if the house was absorbing the sounds and reproducing them again. The music had something that could and did calm everyone down, Kai got up to see if what he was hearing was true. He opened the door to the bedroom and he could hardly believe his eyes. Amber actually played the guitar. "Fishing rod?" she looked up when he spoke to her, her smile widening. He didn't want her to see how he was crying with happiness but he couldn't help but kneel down in front of her. "K what is that?" she asked in a soft voice. He just shook his head and looked at what she had written with a few tears in his eyes.
It was a song that almost sounded familiar to him and yet there was something else about it, her eyes were glued to him, he could feel it. "K?" she asked in a frightened voice. "It's okay, Angel." he said and looked up. She tilted her head and looked at him questioningly, he had been sure that she wasn't playing anymore and now this.
