Sei mein Leben – sei mein Tod

2nd chapter

"Kakashi ?! What are you doing here?" Perplexed I scratched the back of my head and tilted it slightly. "I heard that you are eating very little at the moment," he said flatly. "I can't cook, but I have some food with me," he uttered still flatly and placed a few bowls on the table. "All well and good, but how do you come up with showing up here in the middle of the night? And above all, how do you get to my apartment?" Still amazed, I sat down at the table and offered Kakashi the other chair with a gesture. "I'm Anbu ... but no, your kitchen window was open. In addition, Genma asked me to look after you. He's worried about you." With these words, the gray-haired man sat down across from me. I just nodded slowly and sighed softly. The next moment, Kakashi pushed a bowl towards me and the chopsticks. And immediately a delicious and pleasant scent crept into the nose. "Ramen", I breathed and opened the bowl and the still hot soup began to smoke. "Thanks Kakashi," I said and smiled gently at him. “What do you get for the food?” I hated having debts to someone and always tried to pay them off straight away. And just then I heard his laugh for the first time, which would probably burn into my head forever. "What's so funny about that," I said, confused and questioning. “I don't get anything. It's on me.” With a slight grin, the words came from the gray-haired man and waved a hand. "Then not. But then eat with me," said and pushed one of the four bowls towards him. But there were no more chopsticks, so I got up. I just had to get some from the dishes drawer. “Here.” With that word I handed this over to him and sat down again. "So ... Genma is worried? Why doesn't he tell me that himself instead of sending you in front?" "I can't tell you. I'm just the messenger. Nothing more." I just nodded and did not say another word I'm about the bowl.

I leaned back and held my stomach. "Wow, that was good," I sighed and smiled at Kakashi. "Thanks again. I think I wouldn't even have had anything if I was hungry," I laughed hoarsely and then got up to throw away the four empty bowls. "As I said, nothing to thank", it came back as coolly as at the beginning of Kakashi. I crossed my arms and watched the hatake who was looking around my kitchen. “Tell me,” I began and paused for a moment before I continued speaking, “why are you doing this?” I saw how he raised an eyebrow questioningly. "I meant to sit here with me and eat with me? You could have just left after I showed up in the kitchen. Or even earlier by leaving a note." Kakashi leaned back and folded his arms behind his head. "Because you are one of the few people you can sit with. Without being talked about. Just sit together and eat something," he said in a calmer and friendlier voice. I liked it when he spoke like that. I generally liked it when he talked to me, even if it was very rare. I let out a small sigh, without even realizing it, and started chewing on my lower lip. Again I just nodded and smiled a gentle smile. "I'm glad to hear that. Would you like something to drink? I think I still have some juice in the fridge," I said friendly. The answer was a gentle nod. I got up and went to the refrigerator.Fortunately, I still had a bottle of orange juice and took the bottle out. Together with two glasses that I got out of the cupboard, I put everything on the kitchen table.

We sat together for a while. More silent than talking, but it wasn't an awkward silence. At some point in the middle of the night, Kakashi suddenly got up. "Thanks for the juice," he says with a whisper. Slowly I got up too, stopped in front of him. I couldn't really hide the fact that my heart was beating a little faster than it should. I swallowed briefly before accompanying the gray-haired man to the door. "Thanks again," I breathed towards him and opened my apartment door to let Kakashi into the darkness. “We can repeat that with pleasure.” The words came out of my mouth. I saw him nod slightly in the weak light and a faint 'gladly' came from him. Kakashi raised his hand a little and disappeared into the darkness. Briefly I watched him disappear around the next corner and closed the door. "What time is it going to be?" I asked myself and shrugged my shoulders. I didn't have any clocks to hang in my apartment because the ticking of the pointer kept driving me crazy. And every watch I ever owned ended up either against the wall or in the trash can.

I grumbled when I heard a noise at the apartment door. And just as grumbling, I slowly got up to find out the cause. With barely audible steps I crept out of my bedroom into the hallway and immediately saw the door being opened. I was about to start for a punch when I recognized the person. "Genma," I breathed and looked down from his face to his hand, where I heard something jingling. "Oh yes," I said just as quietly and immediately had to laugh. I gave Genma a spare key to my apartment almost two weeks ago, after all we had been together for almost three years. But none of us thought about moving together. After all, we also need our freedom. “What are you doing here?” I asked smiling as I took his hand in mine and pulled him into the kitchen. "I wanted to see you, after all, I've just come back from my mission," Genma grumbled as I pushed him down on the kitchen chair. "That's right. How was the mission? Done?" With this question I went to the refrigerator and opened it. "Shit ... I have nothing more to eat. I have to go shopping," I said with a growl and threw the fridge shut. I heard Genma laugh. "Don't laugh," I complained seriously. "But you don't know it any other way. You never have food at home," he laughed and stood up. "Then let's go shopping, Schinni." I nodded and ran to him. Before we left the apartment I stood on tiptoe and gave him a light kiss on the mouth. "Nice that you came back safe," I whispered in his right ear.

"By the way, you don't need to worry, Genma," I said out of the blue when we were back in my kitchen. "Who told you that?" Genma said questioningly and raised his eyebrows. Confused, I turned to him after tucking away the groceries. "Kakashi," I replied curtly, crossing my arms. "Kakashi? I hardly talk to him at all." Still confused, I looked at the brown-haired man and he crossed his arms. "He was suddenly in my kitchen tonight with food with him," I said confused and sat down on one of the two kitchen chairs. “And who are the roses from?” Another question that confused me even more."The roses? They were in front of my door yesterday. I actually thought they were from you," I said hoarsely. “How should I do that when I'm on a mission?” Genma asked indignantly and the next moment he jumped up. "At that moment I forgot that you were on a mission. I had so much to do yesterday ... you can forget it," I breathed and looked down. "It's okay, Tenshi. I have to have a serious word with someone," I heard Genma grumble. "Stop it, Genma. I love you. You don't have to be afraid of losing me to someone else," I said quietly. "If you say that," he said calmly. But I knew he would do what he wanted. “Promise me!” As I thought, I got no answer.
