That night it seemed like all was at rest. No crickets chirping and filling the night with squeaks, no trees rustling because of the wind shaking there gentle leaves of the oaks in the courtyard next to their rooms. The rain of the spring wasn't even falling like it was the night before. Everything just silent. Suddenly they heard the normal rain falling on the wood of the roof and seeping through until it reached the concrete of the ceiling. There were only about two rooms who had a leak but those areas were off limits to Sasuke. He knew that area was only for Isame to know about and he didn't mind. She went there when Sasuke wasn't home to take care of private things for no eyes except Uchiha to see. Even though Sasuke was an Uchiha Isame decided not to tell him about it 'till he was older'. Even though Sasuke didn't like it he agreed. So what if he can't see it? Whatever was there he could wait.
"Nii-chan? Can you help me with training today?"
"Of course. Why wouldn't I?"
"Great." He ran to his room and got his little weapons bag.He came back to see she had put on her weapons and her shoes. She was smiling. He ran to her and she took him to the east courtyard. She knew he like to train there. "Ok, first on my list is… throwing shuriken at a tree and getting at least 6 out of 10." Isame quickly took out 10 shuriken for Sasuke to use. He always got lucky with hers and got all of them on the tree.
"Good job." She said to Sasuke and gave him a high-five. It was a good time for Sasuke, knowing that he was not the only one left. He used to love his brother Itachi, but he always loved Isame more than anyone. She was there for him when he needed her, and he appreciated that. Ha had always loved her. She was more like a step-mom than a sister. She was 13 now and she could take care of a kid. She knew the ways to take care of someone because she had often helped their mother with family business and issues, and her mother often said she was a huge help. Sasuke was a good little brother, she saw that in him. He would grow up to be a splendid shinobi.She thought he would be a great person.
"Nii-chan? Are you in there?" Sasuke was waving his hand in front of her face.
"Oh ... I'm sorry about that ... got caught up in the moment." She smiled and they walked back to the kitchen where they had dinner, and after they were finished Isame stayed up and Sasuke went to bed, although he wanted to know what she was doing in the private part of the mansion. In the middle of the night Sasuke had another bad nightmare, and got up and walked to Isame's room. Hey was crying. She woke up immidiately, seeing the tears rool down his face, "Sasuke? What's wrong?" She sat up and let him sit on her lap.
"I had another nightmare, Nii-chan ..."
"The usual?"
"No… worse…" He grimaced. She scooched over and let him lay with her, because it was obvious to her that he was scared. She tried to comfort him. She stroked his hair, and almost the minute after she started he fell asleep. She smiled and fell asleep also.
