Chapter 2: Answer to Question Number 1
Chapter 8
Well real love?
Shinichi and Ran had known each other for 10 years when my wife and I noticed that their relationship had changed. They became more careful. They still saw each other every day, but they didn't seem to be as open as they were at the beginning. Shinichi provoked Ran with Sherlock Holmes, which was his all-time favorite in literature, and Ran kept jumping at it. I am sure they only argued to hide their real feelings. Some may be confused now because I mentioned that Shinichi has been living alone since he was 14, but I have my sources there. I would like to reveal one here now. Professor Hiroshi Agasa who lives next to us. He became a good friend of the family over time. As a result, Shinichi turned to him several times. However, it took some time until I got something out of him, because he had promised Shinichi to keep it a secret.
Ran understood some things better now. She had wondered how Yusaku knew things that he actually couldn't know. It was clear to her now. Shinichi had told Professor Agasa, but why? She didn't really care now either. First she wanted to know why Yusaku wants her to get together with Shinichi. She would deal with it when she answered the first question. She had read the book twice now, but she still didn't know the answer to that question. When she took another look at the book, she noticed an almost blank page. It was an email address and the associated password. Ran went to her PC. She opened her inbox and saw a new message.
Dear Ran,
you will surely be surprised, but this is your new e-mail address. Nobody knows this except me and you. As you have certainly read in the 10th chapter of the book, Yukiko and I want nothing more than to see you by our son's side.My wife couldn't imagine a better daughter-in-law. For this reason I sent you the book. I don't know what Shinichi said to you before he left, so I ask you to wait for him. It may sound strange, but please do this.
Yusaku Kudo
PS: If you want you can write to me, I will answer with a high probability.
Of course, Ran would answer, and immediately.
Yes, I read the book. Several times to be honest, because I hadn't found the answer to the question I asked you. But unfortunately I have to disappoint you and your wife because Shinichi, as I said before, made me understand that he doesn't want anything to do with me anymore. But I plan to wait for him because I can't imagine anyone else by my side.
Ran blushed as she wrote the last sentence. For a moment she thought about deleting this sentence, but decided against it. He was honest with her and she would be too. The message was already sent.
Yusaku was back in front of his PC. A window opened with the message: "1 new email received." He immediately opened it. A smile crossed his face when he read the message. He knew what Ran meant. Shinichi had told him. But he also knew that Shinichi had only written that that she didn't think about looking for him. He was relieved, Ran had written that she would wait for his son. ´If Shinichi knew, he would fly back to Tokyo immediately. But then Yukiko would surely kill me, after all, she is really happy that her son is with her. ´ Yusaku answered Ran with the words: "I'm glad to hear that." He wrote no more. He still had to finish his crime thriller.
Yusaku hadn't heard from Ran for two weeks. They had written to each other every day. But now? And he had to go on a business trip. He was on the road with his new book for 4 weeks.Who should write to Ran when he wasn't there? He could hardly ask Shinichi, then everything would be exposed. He had to bite the bullet and tell Yukiko.
