Chapter 5 - Need a Distraction?
"What? No messages? But ... Mom must have deleted them. Damn it!" Shinichi said to himself. 'But why did she delete them? Why shouldn't I see her? Well, actually it's none of my business, only mom threw me out of the room. So I'm definitely not supposed to see them. Why, why? `
He checked his watch; it was already 2:00 a.m. He should go to bed slowly, after all he has to go back to school tomorrow. When he had shut down the PC, he quickly went to the kitchen to get a bottle of water and then went to bed.
"Tell me, do you really have no idea where Shinichi has gone?"
“No, I don't know!” Ran was annoyed since Shinichi's departure, Sonoko asked this question almost every day. "Yes, but ..." "Nothing but. I really don't know Sonoko and I don't care either. And please don't ask me about it anymore. If I hear his name again, I'll go crazy!" I don't ask anymore. "Sonoko was visibly shocked by her friend's reaction. She had never seen Ran like this before. She was completely changed. “We'll see you tonight.” Ran looked at her friend puzzled. "Just say you forgot? Man Ran, we wanted to go to the cinema with Minako and Akiko today and then go dancing. Stop having a real women's night." "Oh yes, I'm sorry, but somehow ..." "NO! "Sonoko interrupted her," You will come with me, you promised. Besides, you shouldn't hide yourself all the time. You need distraction and a bit of fun. I'll pick you up at seven. See you then. "" Yes, but ... "Ran wanted to contradict her, but Sonoko was already out of earshot. “Oh what the heck.” Then she would just go away tonight, but she wouldn't have any fun. She was sure of that.
When she got home she checked to see if she had an email from Yusaku. And indeed there was another one.
Hello Ran.I wanted to ask you what's going on? You don't answer anymore.
I hope you are fine.
Anyway, I have to go on tour with my new book and I can't be reached for the next 4 weeks. So I'm going to ask Yukiko to read and reply to your emails.
Yusaku
“She won't receive any mails from me.” Ran said and switched off her PC again. Didn't he really want to know why she wasn't writing to him anymore? He ought to know that best. She asked him where Shinichi is and only got the short answer: I'm sorry Ran, I can't tell you that. She hadn't written a single sentence since that day. He wanted her to wait for his son. Wanted to have her in the family and yet he didn't tell her where her "husband" was? No, nothing more came of that. Shinichi must have had his reasons for leaving and why he hadn't told her. That was one of those things. She asked Mr. Kudo that too. But this question has not even been answered as poorly as the question where he is. Yusaku just ignored the question. Pretended that Ran never posed it.
7:00 p.m. Sonoko should be there too. They wanted to meet Minako and Akiko in the cinema, then they went to Minako's home, they wanted to change there and then go to a club. However, she was not yet sure what to wear later. So she had several options spread out in her room. Sonoko would help her find something suitable. It rang. But she didn't go to the door, after all, her father was still at home. Less than a minute later there was a knock on her door and Sonoko entered. "And done?" "Well not really yet, I don't know what to wear tonight. So you have to help me." "No problem. Let's see what you were looking for ... Mh ... So I would say for you to take this"Sonoko pointed to one of the outfits." Well then we'll take that. "Ran packed everything she would still need today.
"Pop, we'll go then. See you tomorrow." "Yes, yes, but that you don't harm me." He thought it was good that this would-be detective was no longer in town. At least Ran could find a doctor or something like that. "See you again, Mr. Mori. Don't worry. We'll take care of Ran." Sonoko chuckled as Ran closed the door behind him.
Ran and Sonoko met them in front of the cinema. Minako and Akiko had already bought the tickets, so they could take their seats straight away and didn't have to wait in line. "And do you have everything with you?" Minako asked the group. Sonoko and Ran nodded. "Wait until you've seen Ran's outfit. She'll dress the boys today like moths dress the light." Sonoko grinned and glanced at Ran. She had specifically looked for the most exciting thing to choose from. However, Ran did not respond to Sonoko's testimony. She was absorbed in the cinema commercials.
The film was over and the girls were on their way to see Minako. It was just 9:25 p.m. They wanted to be in the club by 11 p.m. at the latest. So you still had enough time to get ready. At around 11:30 p.m. they were on their way. They were late because Sonoko couldn't decide which eyeshadow would suit her better. We prefer to ignore the discussion about the lipstick she wanted to apply here. Minako wore a black body-hugging dress that reached just above her knees and black boots. She also wore a black headband in her blonde hair. Akiko wore tight blue jeans and an off-the-shoulder pink top, plus a white hair clip that kept her brown hair out of her face. Sonoko wore a dress that turns from red to orange to yellow and runs down to one leg. At first Ran did not feel really comfortable in the things Sonoko had chosen because many men were watching her.But she was getting used to it. `Would Shinichi look at me like that too? she thought. `Damn it, Ran, you're thinking about him again. It's his own fault if he knew what he's missing * hihihi * `she laughed to herself.
